HELP me Please. Lol

I have a power commander 5. Recently updated the firmware. Just recently bought an auto tune from FM also. Installed. Everything seems to be hooked up correctly. Downloaded the PC software, loaded my FM map to my application (FM headers, stage 1 FM AC and CFR pipes.)

Now I went into settings to activate my auto tune, the PC software says 2 devices connected however it's not recognizing the auto tune, therefore not working.
I tried manually recognizing devices and it's saying no new devices found but it IS recognizing 2 devices on the system.

Please. Any help to get this thing recognized would be greatly appreciated.

You might check the help site from the software and see what they say. Could be too that you should go into the utility setup and see if you have it per spec. I think it will not show until it reaches warm-up temp you input in the utility setting. Probably a simple fix so don't sweat it and don't do a remove / reinstall. If you still have problem do a post - I will check my settings and you can compare. FM may be able to help too.

Hey, I am having the same problem. I hooked everything up, thought I had auto tune working and went out for a long ride. The bike has a few light throttle hiccups. I went home tried to look up what was going on and apparently it wasn't operational? I don't know. I am subscribing to learn how to make this work for me because instructions really aren't explaining things for me.

To activate the Auto-Tune with a PC5, you just check one box. You never really see the AutoTune as a device. It is an extension of the PC5.

Hook up your PC and start the bike. After about a minute of warm up, you should start seeing AFR readings on the right, one per cylinder. If they do not show up, the AutoTune is not connected properly.

When you read the map from the PC5, you should now have Trim Tables visible, one per cylinder. This shows the variance from the map that the AutoTune is reading. Positive numbers means add more fuel, negative numbers mean add less fuel. This is actually done by changing the injector cycle time.

You can update the operating map by applying the trims. This changes the default map to incorporate the trim changes. At some point, the trims will become small numbers (less than +/- 5). At that point, the AutoTune has pretty much dialed it in. Just remember, when you ride, there are some cells in the map table you will never hit, some you will hit only under certain riding conditions (hills, straightaways, curves) so make sure you do a lot of different riding before you think it is dialed in.

Once dialed in, you can shut off the AutoTune if you like. This avoids any glitches, the map is set. I added a switch under the seat to turn mine on/off. It has been off for over a year now. If you make a change (pipes, intake, cams, whatever) turn it back on and let it retune.

I never get the AFR readings per cylinder. I don't know what's up. I got my bike Dyno tuned last week so that's set. Now if I could get this auto tuner working Ill be set.

Question. Maybe I have it installed incorrectly. With JUST the dyno tuned PC5, should I have the stock narrow band O2 sensors installed? If not, what should I do with them?

Now with the auto tune, I currently have it installed using the AUX plug under the seat. Could this be causing a bad power/ground situation?

no,the autotune should've came with the o2 sensors.(which are bigger than the stock ones)if you're just using the pc5 only no autotune disconnect the stock o2 sensors

Ok so update. Thanks to the awesome install instructions from power commander (or lack their of...) I spoke to Brian at FuelMoto. Apparently I had the auto tune plugged into the wrong power outlet (duh me). I had it plugged into the AUX plug but it needed to be plugged into the data plug under the left side cover.
Also, I asked about the stock O2 sensors.
That's a no. Disconnect them under the right side cover.

Fired up, got a solid red light on the AT and changing A/F ratios in the program. I think I'm golden now.

Glad you got it working. I remember looking at the same power connection for AT and doing a double take. Now you can enjoy the ride !

Would you please give more info on the switch to turn the AutoTune on/off?
What switch did you use? how is it wired? Did you get this from DJ / FM or come up with it on your own?

Would turning off (deactivate) the AutoTune with the laptop be the same?
