So ive got the FuelMoto Jackpot mufflers and kuryakyn hi five intake with PCV. Im not all that thrilled with the performance from the 103". Ive also noticed that it LOVES gas and seems very sooty. Could i have a map that is too rich? the map came in the PCV from FuelMoto. I know FuelMoto seems to know thier stuff, but im just looking for a reason this engine is underpowered.

you can download your own map,you go to pc web site and they will walk you thru it.pull one of your plugs out if its black your to rich.it should be lite colored brown/tannish.if its real white to lean.

Ok so i pulled out a spark plug and it was black. I got a new map from Keith at FuelMoto and its better, but there is a flat spot in the power curve at about 3200rpm to 3800. then at 4 it turns on and will pull hard. from 2400 to 3k it pulls hard too. does anyone have a map for thier 103 with hi flow intake and Jackpot exhaust that they are willing to send me to compare to the one i have. Is anyone else seeing a flat spot in hp/tq curve?

If you get some extra coin in the future try out the auto tune. I'm running it with the 103, V&H Pro Pipe HO, SE heavy breather and the bike pulls hard from about 2K RPM and up.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. You didnt mention if you are still running the stock head pipes? If so, First thing i would do is replace those headpipes.
I just have the 96" motor, but Fuel Moto took care of me. Initially i had a Nightstick slip on with the stock head pipe and Ness Big Sucker. Bike ran ok but lean and hot. Keith gave me a cooling map, that helped a little with the heat and bike ran ok, but had to run the bike at higher rpms as i felt like i lost the low end. Now I have the Rinehart Xtreme 2-1, with another map from Fuel Moto, and the bike runs fantastic! Was thinking about cams, but the damn bike runs so good, i dont think i want to do cams anymore.

dedhd,
im still running stock head pipes. i looked at the tables for ignition and AFR and in the AFR there is a couple of RPM ranges (that coincide with flat spot) that the AFR drops off and then picks up again. Im not a mechanic, and prob know enough to tinker with out breaking anything. So i was hoping to see another map from a similar engine to see what the differences are.

I got ya Gonekat. Guess i cant help ya there.
But you did say you were not very happy with the performance of your 103".
I pretty sure you will be happy with the performance of the 103", your PCV, and everything else, if you get a different head pipe.

its not that there is a dead spot in the throttle, its that there is a flat spot in the power curve. the acceleration that is occuring from 2400-3000 rpm tapers off until rpms hit 3800- 4000 and then its back on again. Frank, Ive got a TC 103" with stock cams, Kuryakyn High flow A/C, and Jackpot 3.5" Dyno tuned mufflers from Fuel Moto. Nothing special, but i dont think i should have to get cams to have a smooth power curve.
