I haven't found it yet, but there is supposed to be a plug and play harness that allows you to control the Ipod through your handlebar controls. I am not sure how it works yet as I have not been able to find, but according to the parts guy at our local HD shop there is one available. If I can find the part number I will certainly post. He did say that the Ipod goes into a pouch/mount in the saddle bag, so with any luck it will be something that allows charging while riding. Almost forgot, from what I can see your ride is gonna be sweet when you get it done.

Rowdy,

Here is your link to the HD one. As you will see it's not cheap!

I have this in my truck nd I can just plug my iphone cable right into my usb port on my dash. Awesome and sounds great! I have heard good things from the HD boom stuff from my local dealer, no suprise really. But should be pretty easy to use and I think that I read that you could put it in your glove box or bags.. I would suggest glove box I might line mine with some felt or something that is marine grade and soft for shock resistance and no scratch resistance. Just my two cents. Can't really afford anymore after the last toy;)

Wait uintil the local dealer gets a CVO in. All of the CVO's have iPods and the iPod control set up on the radio. Then you can see how it works and looks, because it is a real pricey set up

Do like I did, put your riding playlist together, get a plug and a Scosche wireless remote for a car, and simply plug it into the radio with the IPOD in the glove box, works great and cost about $40 bucks total if you can find it right.

I'm also looking at running the wire from inside the glove box, inside the fairing and putting a hole right below the radio plug for the cord to come out, to clean up this setup.

Doesn't charge the IPOD but give you a separate control next to you grips.

Actually used a similar setup in winter with headphones and the IPOD in my jacket. Keeps the hands close to the bar and reduces the need to look at the IPOD to change the tunes or volume.

Before putting a hole by the radio check out this thread. If you sign up for the forum you can see the pictures. I am going to do this to my radio this coming winter.

This guy explains how to put an additional jack on the back of the radio.
Do a google search and you may find a posting with images.

I use my Iphone with a RAM mount. ($75) on my 07 RG. When my battery starts getting low I plus it into the Charge port. If its a long ride I just keep it plugged in and ride with Pandora playing the whole time. (as long as I have cell service) Because the RAM mount is ajustable I can control it pretty well. Plus if I get a phone call it rings through my speakers. If its my boss calling I pull over and tell him Im stuck in traffic and will get the reports in as soon as I get back to the office, get back on the road an have a few more hours of road time!

Iron Cross has a direct-in iPod mod that they do.

Pros: it's $105, charges and plays, and feeds out of the back of the unit so the dash stays clean.

Cons: doesn't allow for control by the head unit like H-D's, just the audio and power.

Still, it's a hell of a lot less than the Harley module, and ICA has a very good reputation. If I were to do it, I'd probably either run an iPod mount on the handlebars, or run the cable under the tank and put the iPod in the H-D tank pouch.
