Freaking shopping bag went off the seat and right down the pipes. Good news it's the heat shield over the 02's so if I have to get a new one it's a smaller piece. Anyhow. Tried easy off. No dice. Gonna try again tonight when I get off work. Also heard 0000 steele wool and wd40. Any other ideas?

I had had this very problem. What worked for me was to go ride the hell out of the bike, and get her good and hot, park it, then use a 2x2 inch x1 footpiece of wood,(I used redwood scrap lumber) with a cotton cloth on the tip. Make sure it is not a polyester shirt. Has to be cotton. Rub the plastic off as fast as you can while pipes are still piping hot. The wood is long enough so you can really get some down pressure, and the cloth is just rough enough to remove the plastic, without leaving any marks. Change the cloth surface regularly so you dont re apply the plastic elsewhere on the pipe. This works for burnt heel marks as well.

The 0000 steel wool and WD40 on warm pipes have worked well for me.

Good old steel wool will work just fine, don't worry it won't scratch the chrome. Make sure the pipes are cold and you use a little elbow grease.

Years ago I took a girl for a ride and she put her boot on the pipe and ofcourse left burnt rubber everywhere......lol
I used steel wool on cold pipes, didn't rush it, just worked a little at a time with great results

I melted Frog Toggs to my heat shields one time. Got as much off after a heated them back up. I let them cool overnight and got the rest off with Mr. Clean Magic Erasure. I don't know why or how it works, but the melted nylon came right off. Just make sure the pipes are cold or the Magic Erasure will melt to them too.

I've used the warm pipes cotton rag on a stick trick to remove the majority. Then never dull after pipes have cooled off enough that the never dull is not drying out too quickly.
