Took a blast up to Poopy's in Savana, IL yesterday taking the scenic US Route 66 through Starved Rock State Park before heading North West on IL52. This place has been spoken highly of by anyone whose been there. The ride was cool, just a little over 310 miles and the weather was great. I'm sure the weekends are the time to go as it was pretty dead on a midday Thursday. Next time Ill need to spend a day or two and cross Mississippi in ride along the river south and another North into Wi. I heard from some guys at the bar the riding was great up North.

Been to Poopys several times. The weekends are extremely busy and generally the have some good music. The good riding really starts in that area and is really nice in northern Iowa, Wisc. and southern Minnesota. If you head south of Poopys a ways a real good place to check out is Psycho Silo, probably the best and most popular biker stop in the area.

Psycho Silo is another good run as well - The roads in Eastern Iowa along the river up to Minn are a blast and perfect for an overnighter - Run from here over to Iowa, run up the river to "Lake City, Minn" and sack out for the night and then run the route in reverse back to Chicago........great ride indeed

Silo's go on the list, maybe a hook up ride for the greater chi town area or anyone interested in making the run. Eddie and anyone in the general area. Also have New Glarus Wi on my short list. Lake Michigan Circle tour is going down leaving out 8/5 early running clock wise. Thanks for the ideas fellas

Next time you go up to Poopys...head north thru town on highway 84 up to Elizabeth, then over to Galena. Go north thru Galena and catch the stage coach road...this road goes back East and you can catch highway 20 back to Rockford and on ward to home. This should make a good day of it. If you want to spend a couple of days....go west past Galena to Dubuque on highway 20, in Dubuque catch White street (highway 52) north until you see Sherrill road (route C63)and follow that north, very scenic roads up to Balltown, outside Balltown there is a pull over spot with overlook....must stop! Continue making your way (route C9Y) to catch route 52 again in Millville. Keep going north along river to Gutenberg...bluffs and windy roads along river.
I could go on but I think you got the idea...

Whenever you happen to be hanging in Lake City, let me know. I live across Lake Pepin from there and would love to meet up.

Sounds like an old run we use to do in the sport bike days called "The Flat Four Tour" - Ill, Iowa, Minn and Wisc - Leave Sat Morn and back Sun night - Good times
