I have a black Thunder Header I love the performance & sound. But the ceramic black is ugly & looks dark gray instead of black. Cau I have it powder coated? Or will it crack with the heat?

You will need to get it Jet Hot Coated, or ceramic coated, the
temps on the pipe will ruin the pipe if it is powder coated.

There are a lot of companies that will do the Jet Hot type coating

You can also go to any autoparts store and get black high temp coating paint, some guys use BBQ grill black....

I think there is a spray can of paint made for headers by the name of VHT, I don't know if they are still around anymore but it was made to withstand higher temps.....
You can try painting them with Rustolium flat black. Try doing a heat shield first and see how it holds up. I've done it to my heat shields and it looks good. I'm no expert but here's a photo. Pay no attention to the boot marks on the lower bend.:D

edit: you may want to ask Chainsaw. He knows his paint better than anyone.

I painted my heat shields and mufflers with high temp BBQ paint. Has held up really well for the last 8k miles. Since the paint is softer than powder coat, it will chip when rocks hit it but its not that big of an issues as the pipes don't seem to get hit with too many rocks. I also painted my crash bar, but that seems to get chipped up pretty good. I wouldn't paint the crash bar again as it is just to out there to get hit with rocks and such.
