I always keep the guage display screen pulled up. Every 5-10 min it goes blank. The boxes are still there but the numbers dissappear. If I hit back then guages it is back to normal for another 5-10 min. Contacted dynojet and they said it's something electrical interfering with the data cable. I have it run under the tank. Any suggestions? They are obviously not willing to help with the faulty product they sold me.

You said you have the cable run under the tank. Do you mean in the wire channel? If so, that's probably your problem, and it's a known issue.. Run the cable under the console on top of the tank. That will get it away from ignition, and other electrical noise.

until you've done what they've suggested and ruled out electrical interference, you can't say that they aren't willing to 'help with the faulty product'.

if you want to verify that you actually have a power vision problem, then take your cable and run it differently. if it still acts up, then you have a problem. if not, then it is the way it is run.

Thank you for posting this. Had similar issues and just lived with it. I don't use the PV all of the time so it was a minor annoyance, but this is good to know. My bet is that one will get a better autotune with the cable properly routed as well.

No problem. Mine is on the bike all the time. With the cable run under the console, I have never had any problems with the PV

I have the same problem. I run the cable in the cable tray under the fuel tank and then I run the cable above the fuel tank under the console, I even wrapped the cable with aluminium foil and nothing helped, the gauges still go blank. I got my PV from Fuel Moto and I talked to them and I also talked to Dyno Jet and they both have the same worthless answer, they all say I must be getting electrical interference and they say my bike is the problem not their product. Dyno Jet said that shielding the cable may help, so that's why I wrapped the cable with aluminium foil and grounded the foil to the frame. I asked Dyno Jet why they didn't make all the cables with a shield already in it but all I got was a "UH I DON'T KNOW" . :frown:

I apologize. Not sure why I said under tank. I meant under the tank console. However, if electrical clearance is the issue they should have used better wire period. What if you purchased a tv and had static then I told you its too close to the DVD player? I also told them that I've had trouble with tuning. Seemed to run worse after doing 20+ tunes. (Not because of newby errors. I tuned a Bros bike with a PV and am full aware of the procedure).

Update: They could not duplicate the problem so I'm stuck with a faulty unit. I will not be using or recommending their products in the future.

do you know anyone who has a pv unit? if so, try trading with them for a bit and see if their unit works fine on your bike, and your unit acts up on theirs.

the pv display will work on any bike, it is just the tuning aspect that is locked out.

if they couldn't duplicate the issue, maybe it isn't a 'faulty' unit, but the way you have it installed.

Back up any tunes you have and your factory tune and save it to your computer if you have not. Try a new cable if that does not stop it you are heading for a screen failure and once it goes you are screwed.
Been there done that.
It started just like you said. Then one day it would not come on. A week latter it did, that was the last time it worked. In my case Dynojet step up. It was out of warranty. I sent it in for an evaluation . They sent me a new one.

You might check your battery terminals to make sure they are not loose and intermittently loosing power for a second affecting the PV. My battery cables were loose and my amp gauge would drop for a second then back to charging. My cables were loose enough to make a difference. Just a suggestion and not necessarily the problem.

Did you send them the cable too?

Dynojet was great to me warrantied it after it was out of warranty. If they checked and found nothing you have like a connection issue, a bad cable or interference from some where. Not hard to check those things.

I do have access to another unit to try. I haven't hooked it back up since getting it back but I will give that a try.
It's not the way I have it installed. I have the cable run on top of the tank. I have some tubing that is made for shielding wire on very high voltage stuff. that will eliminate any electrical interference that shouldn't be happening to begin with if the product was made right to begin with. Got to install some poly riser bushings saturday so maybe I'll get the PV hooked back up..

Mine worked at first but then started acting up after about a month. I hope you have better luck.

I wish that was a possibility but I put a new battery on so I know they are tight.
