I was over on ADVRider.com today (because I also ride adventure/dual sport bikes) and found a ride report of a mans journey from Prudhoe Bay to South America (in pieces) on a Road King. I've been thinking about this trip for a while and reading his ride report was more inspiration. I was planning on doing it on the KLR, but knowing it can be done on a Harley gives me the idea of maybe pulling it off on the RGU.

Really curious if anyone has pulled this route off on a Road Glide before and what their experience with it was?

Even if you've just done the Prudhoe Bay trip, post that too.

The report if anyones interested in reading it.

Read about some ppl on www.expeditionportal.com forums that have done it
in various different vehicles and expedition campers.

As I understand it, the Darien Gap is a bitch, no real roads, jungle climate, bandits, and a lot of paramilitary activity. Then there's the Mexico kidnap/drug war issue. I imagine there is some type of US goverment travel warning about traveling outside the resort areas from Mexico to Columbia.

Like to see Patagonia and the Atacama desert, but until they get their shit together down there, I would only fly or float into Chile, not drive.
