So whats the diff between the two aside from the PV having the handlebar controls ?? Do both have the same tuning abilities ?? website doesn't really say one way or the other ..

Looking at doing one of the powerpackage deals .

TIA

Just wondering if the exchanges in this thread provided you with decision making information?

In addition to some of the user characteristics some have mentioned, many consider cost differences; whether or not they want to 'tinker' with the runability of their tune; monitor ECM functions while riding; the ability to do some on-the-fly tuning to meet particular riding condition, etc.

For me, I like tinkering and improving the tune; and the capability of monitoring what the ECM/engine is doing while I'm riding.
And the after purchase support, particularly from FM, is truly outstanding.
You can't go wrong either way--just need to decide which approach best fits your needs.
Good luck.
No pissing match just a discussion of technologies. Sorry to disappoint and really hope no one is butt hurt over the discussion.
Nope, only the people looking for a pissing match.

Good info either way... Fool the ECM or teach the ECM. I'm thinking that I miss carrying my screwdriver in pocket so I could adjust the carb on the fly.

I don't. My KLR is carb'd, and I'm reminded of how great fuel injection is every time I ride it.

I have no experience with the pv. But I am running the pcv. And 4 of my friends are running pcv's. I have mapped (set up) all of these bikes. Some of them multiple times. I am by no means a mechanic. But the power commander is simple to use. And I like the idea that you can put the bike back to stock for trade or sale. JMO
