I posted this in the light section but ill try here..

Hey guys, I see that alot of you have done this DIY, I have a few questions..

Has anyone done a longer LED strip and cut to fit so that there is no gap?
when the lights are off what does it look like?
Does it draw attention when the light is off???
Where do you drill the hole for the wires?

any supporting pics would be appreciated......

halo strip

not tried longer strip, but can tell you that there is no noticeable gap when viewing from a standing position, or even 20' away. I did this easy mod last summer and it gets much more attention that I ever would have believed for such a simple mod and not one person has ever hinted about a gap. Don't worry, this is a non issue. I drilled my hole near the top of each headlight and sealed it with clear silicone.

Here is a link to my thread where I installed the Halo light mod.

Here is a shot I took after my Mean Mug installation.
While you can see the LED bulbs around the perimeter of the housing they are not terribly offending. They tend to disappear from view over time. Most won't notice them.

HTH.

I used the brand Alpena from Autozone. The 14" angel eyez part #77510. The heat from the head light bulb made the led strip turn brown and brittle to the point they stopped working. I recommend NOT using this brand due to when I contacted them about how their product will not work for its intended purpose I was told all they could do is send me the same product that will not work for its intended purpose. Learn from my $60 mistake, Stay away from Alpena.
