13 FLTRX my current system is a stock head unit, Focal 165ac, and Arc KS125.2-bx. I am thinking about adding an aftermarket head unit and a set of Focal 690ac speaker lids.

Since the KS125 is 2ohm stable and the Focal are 4 ohm speakers I am thinking about running the speakers in parrel on the KS125. That's about 60 watts per speaker. Is this enough power to push these Focals

I'm not trying to win or even enter any stereo comps. I just want good clean sound at highway speeds. The Arc and 165 are good but I need a little better. Any opinions?

Yes.. it will work but seriously under-driven. 125x2 is peak.... 60x2 is more like RMS....if wired in parallel.. you are only getting about 30 watts nominal to drive each speaker. I would opt for a bigger 4 channel amp in the very near future if you go this route.

It would help to post the specs on the speakers.

1) The 125w in your face may be enough depending on your windshield and the clarity of your system.

2) The amp is theoretically ALWAYS pushing at "max" power. But as is the case with anything electronic, the 125w/channel is under test bench conditions.

3) 60w each seems like a bit of a waste for a quality set of speakers. I don't know the power rating on the speakers you have, but I would blindly recommend buying another amp and sending 125w to each of the 6x9 speakers

4) Also consider that when tuning your amp and speakers, the 6.5s and 6x9s will have different frequency ranges. If you're running them in parallel, they will be difficult to tune. 6x9 range may send bass signals to the 6.5s that they cannot handle leading to distortion. Tuning only for 6.5 range may make the 6x9s sound teeny.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

RMS on that Amp is closer to 100w/channel with a 12v power source, which would, as Spazz said, probably severely under power most quality speakers.

Bottom line is , if you aren't happy now , your not going to be happy adding two more speakers with the same amp. Going from 4ohm down to two ohm will be more efficient but your also suckling more power out of the amp at the same time running 4 speakers. The amps ratings are set for marketing purpose wide open ,and nobody tunes their amps wide open. Spazz's numbers are more realistic. Buy a bigger 4 channel amp or add an additional amp.
