I plan to put a lowering kit to the forks on my 2011 RGC. The rear is already lowered from the factory and the height is 27". With a 29" inseam, I am looking to get my feet on the ground.

Also looking to have better balance and control with a lower Center of Gravity. Am I correct to expect that?

Progressive has two types: Drop Ins for about $130.00 and monotubes for about $400.00. Everything I've read here indicates the monotubes are worth the money. Just exactly what are the mechanics of a monotube to make them so much more $ ? Thanks

I am not going into the mechanics of the monotubes but I will tell you the combination of the monotubes on the front and 940s on the rear has made a big difference in my ride quality. I didn't notice it that much with just the 940s on, but once the monotubes were installed I noticed a big difference. You still feel the road but it seems to smooth out the bumps. Just one guys opinion though. You can get those prices lowered also. I went thru USMotoman and it wasn't all that bad. I think $281.00 shipped to the door on the monotubes. $470 or there about on the 940s.

Drop-ins are springs only, mono-tubes are a complete replacement of the internals of the fork tubes including springs and a gas charged dampener. Well worth the money IMO.

BTW, for those questioning the 2" lowering and possible fender damage, the other day we hit experience the hardest hit ever on the road, apparently a buckled seam in the road, went completely airborne and landed HARD. My back is still feeling it 3 days later, but the front fender is fine.

Hope your back is better. Winter mkills our roads and now the summer heat is buckling them!
