I am not a newbie to car/motorcycle stereo systems but I am to the HK head unit and the Road glide.

question 1 - if I stay with the HK head unit are my amp connections all the speaker wire level not RCA?

Ive been cleaning up my shed and garage and Im going to sell a dead center batwing fairing I had on my road king for a while. I'll be pulling the ARC 125.2 out of that and I have a little biketronics amp that I'm using in the garage right now but used for rear speakers on the road king at one time.

question 2 - will the ks125.2 fit in the shark nose - will it mount in there?

If it does I bet I can find room for that little biketronics amp too and then I have my set up for all for speakers on my 13 ultra :) so question 3 is what do you think of this??

Then next question will be what speakers - but I'll read some more first before really asking that... Thanks!

Ok people are not liking my post - thanks for the answer about the inputs!!
I'm selling a dead center fairing and hope that will give me a nice budget for the audio upgrade to my ultra.

Should I use the two amps I have ks125.2 and biketronics BT454 and add a harness and speakers - see a lot of good reviews for focals

Or go with a package from hog tunes or J&M

I like the idea of staying with hand controls so with the HK head unit.

If you want to go with an aftermarket head unit there are adapters so you can still use your hand controls, Hawgwired and Biketronics both make plug and play units and are the most popular, and there are others.

Have Iron Cross Audio install preamp outs ~ big improvement in sound quality. (a lot less $ / drama than changing head units ~ although you can sell the HK)

'Don't know anything about your amps...

I went with J&M Rokkers / XTs in the fairing / lowers, Rokker 500w in the fairing. Clear music at 90+

You can put 2 amps in the fairing easily. Here's my take; you have a 13 bike so why not use new updated amps instead of something laying around in the garage? If you are going with new speakers, newer up to date amps that match those speakers will give you more of what you want from the start instead of going back later for an upgrade.

Those are both good amps. They'll both fit. The hk head unit is speaker wire out. That will be fine for the ks125.2 but not sure about the biketronics my newer bt2180 is rca input only. Biketronics makes an adapter. You can go aftermarket hu but you'll need the kit to retain hand controls. Double check the impedance of the 2 amps also. I think the arc is 2 and the bt is 4. Make sure the speakers you use match up.

So rather than go start a new thread - I thought I would add on here

I have done a bunch of reading and received great help here - Thanks Scootin!
I am leaning toward keeping the HK head unit
getting the iPod interface from iron Cross
*my first question - Iron Cross says that the interface will work with newer iphone and ipod w/ligthning if I use an apple adapter - can any one confirm this?
I have a RFpbr300x4 in a hot rod and like it so I think that is settled
may have a used arc 125.2 for sale....
Speakers are another story - Scootin gave me the idea of ARC Audio moto602 in the front and focal integration 6.5's in the rear

Reading here and other forums I see stuff about biketronics 7.1's, I had polks in a deadcenter fairing for my roadking that I liked (driven by the arc 125.2) also stopped by a local shop and they were talking RF power series speakers.

Oh and there was a nice flame war in another forum re: the 7.1's and the J&M speakers
So weigh in and let me know what you think especially if you have firsthand knowledge about the Iron Cross Ipod interface = Thanks!!
