Quick review of my 10" Freedom windshield with update!
Well, the UPS truck finally arrived. I had already taken off the stock "shield" from my RGC. I couldn't believe the quality of this shield after removing it from it's fine packing. Freedom states that the shield is 30% thicker, but it is easily 100% stronger. I had to play with it a bit to get it to bend so all five holes lined up. This shield is heavy duty! It came with all new hardware. I used this and stored away the stock hardware. The shield comes with everything already attached. It's all incredibly well made and 100x better than stock. The dark tint is reasonably dark, but not overly so. When sitting on the bike, the top of the shield, lines up with my lower lip. This was exactly how I wanted it. Since I wanted a dark tint, I wanted to make sure I could easily see over it for night time riding. I took the bike out with the plastic film attached. After 10 minutes, I knew the shield was staying on, so I pulled over and removed the film. My ride was short, at only 20 minutes of side roads and 5 minutes on a local highway, but I could easily tell the difference from the joke of shied that came stock. I would estimate 50% less wind everywhere. Stereo was much clearer now on the highway. I have Boom speakers and Freedom Performance true dual that are loud. I really need to take her out tomorrow for a more thorough test, but I only expect good things.
I also want to state that if you are going to go with 12", you should probably go with the light tint. I think if this shield was any larger in would be a bit of an eyesore. Lighter tints won't stand out as much.
