So I am considering getting a bigger front wheel, but have some questions/concerns. I do not want ride quality to suffer much. I do not want a to cut the frame.

So if I run a 23 or 26 wheel, if I do this I will likely go 26" unless the final price is staggering higher.

Can I just use raked triple trees or a bolt on kit? Is one better than the other?
It look like the legs are longer on raked bike, is this an illusion?
Is there a need for a drop kit when doing new trees?

I just installed Ohlins in my forks if I need something else the entire idea is scrapped???

First question is why? You will have to get longer fork tubes which require cartridge modification which, as far as I know, I am the only one who does custom build both the 25mm & 30mm cartridges. This means that #1: new & longer fork tubes, #2: your cartridges are not usable in Germany unless you can find someone who will manufacture the needed parts to compensate for the longer fork tubes. The merits of decreasing the front tire performance and adding a huge amount of inertia is something I do not wish to discuss.

Go to choppedbggers.com for this. On this forum you'll get a bunch of people who have never done this mod but are experts and will tell you how awful and an idiot you are. To answer your question there are bolt on kits for both 23 and 26. Picard, HHi and a few other make good kits. Someone like Richie, torqu or Sic will hopefully chime in because they have done it. Chopped has more info than you need on this.

Then why did you even comment on the thread? Agree with Laxin. Go over to chopped for this. Wealth of knowledge over there from folks who like being able to easily pick their bike out in the parking lot ;)

Why I commented on this question because the OP asked a question "I just installed Ohlins in my forks if I need something else the entire idea is scrapped???". He asked what was involved in doing this mod with his cartridges. I told him what was needed. I see no one else answering that question especially you and laxinharley but you both had something to some negative to say. Do you have the ability or skill as well as background to answer the OP's question? I stated: "The merits of decreasing the front tire performance and adding a huge amount of inertia is something I do not wish to discuss".

I do not care what anyone rides as it is not me. Now: Why did RichieRich & laxinharley comment when they both offered absolutely no useful information other than you can pick your bike out of a parking lot to SmokeyJoe? Think about what you both just have said and than actually read what the OP asked. That is why I took my time and answered his question on a Sunday.

I don't know why you out me in this. I said nothing to you so in turn please keep me out of it. Also do me a favor and go back and read my answer. I answered him with yes they do make a bolt on kit and suggested some vendors. I also answered him I suggested to go to a sight that has more info and experience. Most people on here call it ridiculous and a waste of money. They hate what they don't understand. As evident by the first stamens out of your mouth "why". I only have a 21 but respect the work that goes into a bigger wheel especially the cut and take. Keep me out of your comments.

Been lookn into doing this myself man.
My Biggest Freakn Hassle w/the whole ordeal is 'Cutn' my Frame! Dont get me wrong here, Im good w/it as long as I know its done rite. But , after eyeing these Big Wheel Freakn Chopper Bad Ass Lookn Motorcycles for the past 5 or 6 years!, Technology!, I think,??? is catchn up as in a bolt on Neck Kit. Now, Im speakn from reading knowledge and not actual riding the bikes knowledge, one that has been cut, or one that has a bolt on kit. From what I understand , the bolt on kit American Suspension comes w/everything you need xcept the Inner Fairing Mount bracket and another bracket that allows u to bolt ur crashbar back into place. There is no need to xtend ur forks , or , change ur suspension. Thats all personal preference. If Im understanding everything correctly w/the suspension, if ya wanna change it or not.

Ive crunched the #'s and I'm lookn at about 5,000
Good Luck w/ur choice.
