OK…gotta vent. I waited 9 weeks for my wheels to go through production at PM, when I was told around 4 weeks. Three weeks ago I ordered the fairing mount and fairing supports brackets to put the vented lowers on. The fairing mount and right side fairing support has been at my local dealer for two weeks. I was told then that the left fairing support was back ordered until September 30th. Called this week to see what was up and was told it is now back ordered until October 30th:mad:. S.O.B. are you kidding me…. I began these upgrades on July 01st when I ordered my wheels, Monkey Bars and lowering kit. Three damn months of waiting and now I am going to have to wait another freaking month for a fairing support???:mad::mad:

OK, I am done bitching and moaning now. I am just READY to get these things on my bike.

Did you go to Black Wolf, or Smith Brothers?

I'm not a fan of either.... But SB seems to be better for parts.

I won't order from either. If I'm there, and they have something I want, I'll buy it.

It is Smith Brothers. I know the Parts Manager pretty good and have never had an issue ordering from them. He is off until next week so I will check with him next week and see what the deal is. I guess it is on the MOCO end but who knows. I just can’t believe it is going to take almost 2 months to get a fairing support in. Do you order your stuff on line?

Ya know, I've noticed this happening a lot more lately. I ordered cams and a cam install kit over a month ago, and they are still not here, back ordered. I also bought some new gear for work, and it took well over a month to arrive.

I suspect that with the economy being what it is, that companies are just not holding stock in inventory like they used to. It's expensive to hold parts in a warehouse that customers may or may not ever buy.

Hopefully, the economy will turn around soon and parts will again be "In Stock"...

Ive noticed the same thing, parts being backordered a lot anymore. I guess we get so acustomed to having everything NOW that when we have to wait we're just not used to it. I am the worlds worst,.. but learning to be more patient.

Chain,

I realize stuff happens and I was cool with the back order issue when I was told it would be the first of October. When the first of October arrived and I was told the first of November is when I got a little pissed…lol. This whole modification has been one delivery date after another zipping right by without getting my stuff. I guess it is not just the dealer’s delay it is all of the delays combined that has got to me. Like I said it all started the first of July. Now I have about 3,500 dollars worth of parts decorating my garage and I am ready to see them on the bike instead of beside it on the shelf. I know, I know….good things come to those who wait……I have waited damn it!!!!! LOL.

I'm a member of another site that is sponsored by a little dealer in Ohio.
By little I mean one of the old style, can't fit more than 8 or 9 bikes in the showroom, cluttered, NOT one of these big fancy new school dealers.
This "little" dealer took THE "Gold Bar and Shield" award in Vegas this year for volume sales.

By being a member of that site, the manager of that dealer gives us 20% off all parts and accessories.

I went so far as to drive up there to buy my 2011 RGU. She took REALLY good care of me.

I feel your pain brother. Since our economy took a dump it seems like almost everything is on back order. Nobody stocks their shelves any more. I have a Big Dog and I waited 4 months for a billet clutch adjustment cover. I finally found one on ebay and canceled my order with Big Dog.
