Afternoon Forum!
I rode my 2012 FLTRU today. Had been a couple days as I've been riding my other bikes. The last time I rode, all was well. Today, I hit the rear brake...there was no brake. :surprise: No brake warning light on dash, nothing at all indicating a problem.
I was able to stop as the front brake is working fine.
Read about a HD rear brake recall being issued in 2011. Seems it affected 2012 too. If I am dealing with that problem, the Stealer didn't check for recalls while they had the bike on the sales floor. :(
I have the extended warranty so it's definitely headed to the shop.
Thought I would ask you guys if you've experienced similar circumstances?
Have a great weekend!

Had the same issue on my glide which is a 13. I bled the rear and it worked fine. What I determined is that since I almost never use the rear brake it gets a little air in it and stops working so now I use the rear while sitting at stop lights to keep this from happening.

Not sure what year the rear brake switch recall was but I doubt that is your issue as that would affect the brake light coming on, not the actual function of the brakes. Bleed it and ride. Pump it up before you start to ride if it feels spongy.

Thanks HogPro...I did pump the hell out of rear. Didn't stiffen up.
I'll bleed the brakes over the weekend see if that's the issue. I hope it's that simple!
Appreciate the advice Brother!

Recall a switch defect back in 03, but won't think it would affect the mechanics of brakes, was quite common for us to adjust so we could be on the back brake before the light came on....just to avoid those Blue lights. Definitely ck your caliber
