I know a lot of guys swear by using a car tire on the rear. I don't ever plan to try. Motorcycle tires are engineered for motorcycles and their ride characteristics. Car tires are not. You also have to consider that in the event of an accident, insurance companies can and will use any reasoning necessary, regardless if it is valid, to deny claims.
