Which would you do? I have 94k on the RG. Tried to jump it out and start it on the bike and no luck. I removed it and it is now working. The contacts on the plunger are pretty rough.

Thoughts?

If you can get the parts you need and have the time, just rebuild it. Unless the armature is bad, it is not difficult to repair starters.

That starter is common on lots of Japanese cars. A good starter/alternator shop can provide the stuff you need. Definitely don't need a new starter.

What did you end up spending on the rebuild?

What all did you end up replacing?

It is good for the forum to let other know how little things can be repaired for, it is not mandatory to give all your money to the MOCO.
