Morning all, well installed new handlebars ran wires thru bars not much trouble there. Put bars back on this morning reconnected battery. Red key light came on steady, Turn key to on red key light flashing slow. no other lights come on no headlight, no instrument panel lights nothing. Checked all fuses with ohmmeter all fine. Tried the reset procedure no flashing from blinkers nothing. Im wondering if the actual ignition swicth failed or not aligned properly. Anyone have ideas?

Sounds like it’s not probably aligned.

[Yep the actual switch was broke inside where the contacts meet. I think I had rotated too far. Ordered a new one from Studkye HD for 54 bucks

Glad you got it figured out. Depending on year model, and little too late, most RG dont require the ignition switch to be removed.

Newer ones dont, unfortunately mine did it's a 2011 FLTRX , when it's out of alignment it's pain in the ass, so last time I bought the tool screw that again.

Glad u gott her figured out! There needs to be a video showing how to install new bars without taking out the ignition. Theres just no need. Causes all sorts of problems.
