Just do a quick search for fairing removal or the like an you'll find a few picture by picture threads on the proper disassembly.

You're going to be surprised at how good the detail and pictures are!!

Good luck

It's not rocket surgery. I've popped mine off and on a few times. I highly recommend having a service manual handy, but it can be done without one. Remember to remove the headlight bezel and lights before you attempt to replace the fairing. That will help you find the little stereo mounting frame hooks to which the fairing attaches. I fought that part for an hour the first time. the lamps and bezel pop right back in after the fairing is secured.

I recommend taking digital photos of the cables and connectors inside the fairing in case you have to pop any off to do your work. The cables are precisely placed and the slightest misplacement can make reinstalling the fairing a bitch!.

The wife and I installed a Hogtunes speaker and amp in mine. It didn't take long to get it apart. About 45mins with me being careful and wrapping and turn signals in with rags and then rubberbands so nothing broke. Getting it back together wasn't bad either, getting the fairing to click into the clips in the back when putting it back on drove me nuts. Neano came by and wrestled with it for a little bit and got it back on for me. All in all its really not that hard.

Just be careful tightening the torx screws. Remember you are attaching plastic!
