I am looking to replace the stock speakers that come in the Schuberth C4 Pro helmet. The audio is tinny, no bass, basically crappy fidelity. These Helmet Speakers | Bluetooth Helmet Speakers | Sena Helmet Speakers speakers have good reviews. I will need to cut the speaker wires, solder and use heat shrink to complete the installation. The helmet speakers are powered by the Sena SC1 Bluetooth module in this helmet. What I can't find is any spec on the impedance of the stock speakers. Has anyone done this before, or have info on the impedance of the helmet's stock speakers?

So, I answered part of my questions. I removed the lining from my helmet to access the speakers. They are marked 32-ohms.

So, I have a couple updates for anyone that wants to replace or install speakers in their helmets.

First of all, I found a couple options for helmet speakers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MV2ZLHC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details . There are two speaker options, one about $50 and a newer option for ~$100..

Secondly, after a bit of internet searching, I learned that the position of the helmet speakers is critical. The center of the speakers should be aligned with your "ear hole/canal". When I removed the lining of my helmet, I discovered the position of the speaker is adjustable. By moving my stock speakers 1/4", the volume of the speakers seem to double! Perhaps other brands than Schubert have adjustable positions for their speakers.

Good info...I have a C3 Lite Schuberth and been contemplating installing bluetooth speakers (it came without speakers).

Centering any set of speakers directly over the ear canal will enhance sound accuracy every time. Bass and low/mid-range sound in particular will be improved. Easiest way to test this is with a simple set of headphones in the house. Move them around over the ears, intentionally missing the perfect placement while listening to the audio quality...or actually the lack of it. Then get the headphones placed correctly and centered. Volume and all audio ranges will be much improved. Think in terms of sound richness.

The above is especially critical if you wear earplugs in the helmet (we do) while listening to music. Filtered earplugs have been the biggest enhancement to in-helmet audio quality I've ever experienced. Simply amazing.
