So I'm reading around about horn upgrades...and see comments where people have said the Rushmore horn is MUCH louder than the old horns. As loud or louder than the Wolo's.

Anyone retrofitted one to a older bike? Anyone know if they are physically close in size? Anyone know what they are priced at?

I tried to look on ari parts.net to compare part numbers for you, but it keeps giving me a "bad request" error. Hopefully that site isn't permanently down, I used it quite a bit.

13 horn part # 69060-90F. 15 horn part# 69060-90H FLH part #'s for both
Excellent, thanks! Googleing the 69060-90F Shows it for sale on hd.com for $45. The reviews show it can be easily retrofitted...but the reviews are spotty. Some say a lot louder, some say a little louder.

A friend tells me you just "must have" the new version of the Harley horn, so what could I do...but buy one. My 05 Road King had what I thought to be a nice enough horn with a mellow tone and reasonably loud. So I bought the new one (which I believe to be standard equipment on 2013 and later bikes) and installed it. It was immediately obvious that the tone was higher and harsher than the '05 horn. Not exactly pleasing to the ear, but YES louder and more annoying, which I suppose is what you want in traffic. So the verdict is that it will probably get more attention on the road, but you the rider will say, "damn, that's annoying".

Great replacement for old stock horn

This product was easy to install and certainly louder than the 16 year old stock horn on the Road King I bought last summer.

I was surprised how much louder this horn is from the stock one. Great improvement from my stock horn.

Easy to mount - good instructions. It sounds a little louder. I did a quick measurement with a sound pressure level meter and measured 2-3 dB louder than the stock horn (which was getting old).
I would recommend this for replacement for a stock horn that has died, but if you're looking for something substantially louder than stock, you may want to look at other alternatives.

I know my "Rushmore horn" was originally a lot louder than the one that was on my 12 now after a year plus of rain and washings it sounds about the same as my old one did.

Service advisor told me that they changed the horns in 14 for the Rushmore bikes to be louder when I came in for my 1k. Initially it was, but like I said the difference after a year is pretty minimal now. It's possible that the new bikes have a different horn but my guess is that the cover is the only difference.

Yeah, I know I should.....just don't wanna spend that much money.....although I'm quickly coming to the realization that LOUD don't come CHEAP.

You can get the wolo air horns at advance auto for $49. I bought one mounted it inside the fairing and it's very loud.
