Hey everyone!
I have a 2011 FLTRX..(I know, I know, old school!! haha)

I have 4 RF 6.5 in the fairing, 2 in stock location, 2 facing forks (1 is blown)
Pushed by a PBR300x4
hogtunes lids, with RF 6x9
powered by a PBR300x2

I am looking to up grade all the speakers since 1 is blown... seems logical...

With my amps what speakers could i go with, and make clearance with the RF speaker grills (they're color matched to the bike facing forks)

regarding the micro sub..... I have Top Shop Black Death bags, I was thinking about adding a micro sub, and small amp to the extension, facing the wheel, im trying to keep it below the false floor, has anyone ever tried??

Thanks!!

Stripclub suggested infinity kappas....his sounded amazing... he had 2 more 6.5 than I did... but that's the way I'm leaning... focal are high dollar and probably worth it... I'm rebuilding my motor this winter with a few hush hush upgrades so I'm kinda doing speakers on a "budget" haha

You'll be happy with the Kappa's pushed by your PBR's

The way it's been explained to me, the higher the quality of the amp, the higher the quality of the speakers needed to take advantage.

The Focal's are FANTASTIC speakers but I don't think the PBR will bring out the best in them, you'll need to invest in a better amp. Kappa's however will.

Thanks for the compliment. I was running 8 Infinity Kappas 6.5" along with 1" Alpine tweeters mounted in the fairing below the guages facing me that had two crossovers on them a Alpine BT149 and two Soundstream Nanno PN4.520D amps that were mounted in the tour-pac because with the inner facing speakers in the fairing there was no room to mount those amps there. I also ported the tour-pac speaker pods and added Polly fill for a little extra parking lot bass. Sometimes I wish I still had that bike also. Good luck with your build. Your bike ran and sounded great before, especially with the header you were running.

I believe the pbr x4 is a 4 ohm amp and you have to use a 4 ohm speaker. You would be better off getting another RF power speaker until you can afford a whole new system.

You are correct. I think the Kappas mentioned above are 2ohm.........they'll blow your PBR 300x4. The PBR 300x2 is 2 ohm stable though. You could switch the rears to the 300x4 and run the fronts in parallel (all four 4ohm speakers), off the 300x2.
