Yes, I was pretty disappointed to learn that the RGU did not come with the se-255 cam.
So, I am considering the cam, the SE heavy Breather and some se slip-ons.
They do offer a compact version of the breather for bikes with lowers. Anyone done this combination? Which se slip-ons are much louder and better performing?

If you're looking for the breather with the bend, it probably won't work with lowers. You can get a standard SE High Flow kit or go for an after market one. None of the SE pipes are very loud. Are you looking for loud pipes or better performance? If you like loud, look into Vance & Hines slip-on's, if you want performance, I always recommend RB Racing pipes. They give you performance and a great sound. Just my opinion.....

So you were happy with it until you found out?

Get the breathing taken care of first. IMHO, the cats have got to go - too much restriction and HEAT. It was less money to change the entire exhaust than to buy two SE slipons - which don't give you much sound or performence if the cats are still choking the headpipes. The Heavy Breather sticks out too far for me to ride comfortably, so I just went with the SE a/c that looks stock but isn't. Added a SERT, and an hour on the dyno to get close. Have a little decel popping and still runs a little hot, so I'll get a better dyno tune done next month.

This woke the 103 up. The HD tech who tweaked the tune got 85.39 HP and 94.68 TQ. I expect Geoff at Cycledoctor will get a little more, and cure the decel and heat issues. Sure don't need the cams for the way I ride - I have to watch the speedo or I'm pushing 100 on the freeway. Came up behind a CHP doing 110 across the Carissa Plains a couple weeks ago....

If you don't have a GOOD dyno tuner available, get a PCV from FuelMoto. Heck, give them a call - they do packages with pipes, a/c and PCV. Might be enough without cams, if not - well, you'd need it all to do cams anyway!

No I was never happy with it from the get go. OK but nothing stellar. My RKC with a 95 kit, se breather, 2 in 1s and a tune was quicker. It dynoed at 90 ft lbs and 80 hp with a crappy tune.
Just thought the cams were the obvious missing link.

They make the compact heavy breather for bikes with lowers like I said in my original post but as mentioned some folks find it interferes with their knee/leg.

I don't want to yank the cats but as I am reading more it sounds like the only viable option for decent power and sound. I definitelly don't want to go as loud as I have before, but I want a decent sound. The bike is dangerously quiet stock, almost embarrasing. Especially her in SFL with all the hearing impaired white hairs!!

The tech here say the new bikes are still pretty quiet with no mufflers, as long as the cats are there - but that's not why I pulled them. Heat was awful - and we have lots of 90+ days here. The bike would go into heat management at every stop, and it was very uncomfortable for the rider and passenger. Heat kills air-cooled motors, and I like to ride.....

Here in California, there is always the threat of smog inspections on bikes. I will keep the stock stuff just for inspections, as I'm sure cats would cost big $.

My '07 had RTDs, and it made power at higher rpms. This one got a V&H ProPipe Chrome 2/1, and makes power at much lower rpm. Still makes good power at higher rpms, but definately different. The little bit of dyno time it got also seemed to quiet down the PP. I'm anxious to see what Geoff gets out of it.

I doubt you would be happy with a different cam and the cats still in, but I could be wrong. I don't know anyone who has tried it.

I spoke with Brian today at FuelMoto. Very impressed!!!!! Now to make decisions...
The head pipes are on back order, so likely I will do the Jackpot Carbon mufflers, A/C, PC-V first. Then head pipe and maybe cams at the same time.

Psyched!!

SE heavy breather

I really like the looks of the heavy breather and saw the one that fits with the lowers and got it. It does fit but leaves maybe 1/2 inch between the front of the filter and the lower. I haven't used the glove boxes for anything so the fact that it is mostly blocked doesn't bother me. And I didn't find it to bother my leg position at all, in fact I think with having the empty space where the back of the football would be gives me more space (but I might want it to be that way too much too. If interested I'll post a few pics.

I have the head pipes, PCV and slip ons coming from fuelmoto too after looking here, HDForums and talking to Jaime. They seem really patient with any questions I've had so far. Shipping has been a little slow but they're catching up on production and I can't wait to get them in. All in all I'd rather have a good product with people that stand behind it and are personable than a bank of people reading from a script trying to troubleshoot my problem.

The package with the mufflers,ac, tuner about 11 hp and 11 torque expected at he wheels.
Nice enough bump and a better running, better sounding bike. $689, I went with the tuned slip-ons.

I recently purchased a 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra after riding a friend's CVO Road Glide. I would never have believed the difference in how they handle and ride. Ok on to the question. I installed the V & H Propipe Chrome along with a Thundermaster tuner and Arlen Ness Big Sucker II. No dyno to deal with here, although I had to weld in new bungs for the Propipe for the O2 sensors that come with the Thundermaster. The bike runs fantastic and the heat is now manageable. The bike will never go into fuel management which is not good for an engine at all. No decel pop and lots of power. I will say that my 07 SE Ultra with the 110 and Rinehart true duals seemed that it had a little more power but I think it may just be at the upper end. The low end power is fantastic. The stock ECM will continue to rob your engine of power because no matter how much you turn the throttle it will only apply 40% until you hit 3000 - 3500. Go with Thundermaster, you can't go wrong.

Installed the Jackpot tuned slip-ons, pc and A/C after leaving my 1000 mile check-up.
Not as loud as I wanted, not much over stock, but I will see if it breaks in. Performance is definitley SOTP noticeable and she feels much smoother.
