Just got my Road Atlas in the mail today! I think this one is going to be very helpful with trip planning. Awesome maps, pics, and area descriptions to help break through the road trip writers block.

I kept all my old HOG Road Atlases when they were sending them out. Have given a few away over the years as people needed a copy. But still have a few lying around. Definitely helps every time I go somewhere new, I look through to see what roads have been highlighted - and make sure to divert from the shortest route.

In advance of the HH in ‘20 (eventually ‘22 cause of the border closure) I purchased a complete set of Rand McNally fold out roadmaps to carry with me. With no GPS allowed, it was a lifesaver for when the directions turned out to be poorly written (as they often are, purposefully it seems!)

Nothing quite like a paper map. Reading one (especially a topo map!) is becoming a lost art.

Butler makes the best detailed maps out there and will show every county road, dirt road, even private roads (which you have to be careful of). I started using them in my ADV bike days because I wanted to find all the public dirt roads I could. And we still have plenty here where I live…. I have one of Texas in my saddlebag, and another one hanging on my garage wall, and on that one I’ve highlighted in pink every road I’ve ridden 2-wheels on. The entire map is pretty much pink…….
