I had never considered them, but I don't think they look bad. I had pictured something like on my quad, but what you have here is kind of subtle. If I were caught in the rain a lot, I would definitely consider them. I have had potato/June bugs smack the hell out of my hands at times. They look functional and don't look like an afterthought...

I put a pair on an old sport tourer of mine when I was nailing 30k+ in all climates. They rocked for functionality.
Those look decent. The multiple angled cut breaks them up nicely. Personally, for style on a HD, not a fan, but if its for function, I'd throw them on in .2 seconds.

I'd definitely run a pair of them on mine in the winter. It's the only thing I don't like about my 16" apes, my hands being up in the cold airstream.

The crazy thing is I like the look ( style ) it doesn't get that cold out here in Southern California 70 degrees and we're grabbing our sweaters thinking it's cold lol..... But on long rides I love them
