Looking at running 79 thru Arkansas down thru Louisiana and across Tx. Good or bad? Just trying to figure out how many vacation days to schedule off.

From where are you coming? It is not a bad road. Depending on time and where you are headed, I'd suggest going across northern AR, maybe 412. Then cut down on 7. NW Arkansas has some of the best riding in the entire country.

79 is pretty good, multiple lanes where there is traffic and most of it is pretty new and well kept. I travel it from Austin to Shreveport all the time, in-laws.

Great advice there. Just depends on how much time you have but if you can swing it I would certainly check out Southern MO and NW Ark roads. I have never been disapointed. Your route is perfect for making time though.

I would suggest, if you are interested, get a Butler MC Map of the Ozarks. You won't be disappointed.

Is this part of the ride In fly in Ohio tour going to shark week or are you taking a separate Vacation.

I'm thinking of leaving wed afternoon . Taking a scenic route down
Nice, I am not sure what everyone is doing, I know High Maintenance is definitely flying, so riding time and days involved for me are wide open, nothing planned yet, except for the room is reserved in Texas.

Pretty much same here. I should have a day or three extra I can burn for this trip.

I'll mirror Big Jacks comment about NW Arkansas. I rode thru Eureka Springs in the summer of 13 and the roads and scenery were real nice and I barely scratched the surface.

+1 on the Ozarks and the Butler Maps, they also have one of Texas and the Hill Country.

If you have the time to get there the weekend before some of us are going to the ROT Rally in Austin the weekend before. Never been but they say it's pretty fun. I know Austin is one of the coolest towns I've ever been to and really worth the time to check out especially if you're into music and hot H:eek:T ass women :D:eek::D

Are we there yet? Can't wait to get back to Austin for a few days before SW V. Doesn't matter which route you take as long as you get to Austin for ROT then head out to Hill Country for some of the best riding around. Come on June '15!
