Ride: 2015 Road Glide
Motor: 103

I'm still trying to nail down the header system I'm going to install. I've been going back and forth between X-crossover designs from Fuelmoto and Fullsac. But I've also been looking at the Rush High Output Touring Performance Pipes (7017HO and 7117HO) specifically. These are dual head pipes that have a H-crossover.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with either the chrome or black versions of these pipes.

I'm looking for something that will pair well with my SE Street Cannon slipons. I know for sure that I don't want true duals, so it's down to a traditional 2-1-2 with and X-crossover or the hybrid Rush duals with the H-pipe.

Anyone running these?

Check out S&S Power Tune Duals. Look like true duals but have a hidden cross over. Was set on Vance and Hines power duals but didn't like the large X of the design. Dealer suggested S&S header and so glad went with it.
I looked at those head pipes as well :)

I have the fullsac sportpipe and could not be happier, fit perfect good price and produces good low end torque, my choice best bang for the buck.
That one was on my short list :) I liked the fact that it is the stock pipe with the Fullsac modifications so I assumed that fit would be as good as stock and that I could retain all of the stock mounting points and mounting hardware. Improved low end torque is always a good thing for me since I ride 2-up a lot. This bike is really a touring bike and spends more time on the open road than around town bar hopping. Was there a big difference in the Db level after changing out the head pipe? I've read that the true duals (even with the H-pipe design) can be obnoxiously loud when paired with the Street Cannons, so I'm not looking to rattle windows or disturb my riding partners too much, but a little increase in Harley rumble wouldn't hurt my feelings. Main goal is to reduce some of the heat that hits me and my passenger during the hot Arkansas summers.

The heat reduction was amazing, my wife used to tell me she was burning up, and after the headpipe change told me how much cooler and comfy her ride was always a plus, as for sound not so much louder but a lot deeper, a bit louder on wide open throttle oir heavy accel but nothing like a drag pipe, nice sound IMO.

UPDATE: After a bunch of research, cussing and discussing, indecision, confusion and outright bewilderment at all of the possible options and combinations, I ordered the Rush High Output Performance Pipes (7117HO) earlier today. I was really torn between the Fullsac Sport Pipe, Fuelmoto 2-1-2 SPC coated economy steel pipe and various other options available.

In the end it really came down to doing something a little bit different than most others were doing. I liked the true dual appearance of the Rush pipes, even though they have a semi-hidden H-style crossover. So I'm hoping it is a decent compromise between noise, performance, appearance and the budget.

Found them at MX South for $456 and I had some points I needed to use that brought it down to $411 shipped.

According to Rush these pipes are ceramic coated inside and out and they also come with a limited lifetime warranty. I hope I never have to use it, but overall customer experiences with Rush seems to be pretty positive. Wish me luck and pray that I don't have to buy new slip-ons. Otherwise the Mrs. is going to have my head. Her exact words were; I don't mind the bike being much louder, as long as it doesn't rattle my teeth and I can hear the radio.

Hopefully the audio upgrade has mitigated that potential problem. Guess we will see................

I've had all the pipes you listed above and my favorite is the Rush H-pipe. I loved it. Don't get the black because it fades pretty bad.
Pat, probably to your dismay I did order the black version. There just isn't any way that I could mess up the theme on my bike. Hopefully the Rush heat shields will hold up a long time, but if I have to I'll get them re-coated down the line if they ever start fading so badly that I can't stand it anymore.

So that I'll have a point of reference in the future, here is how the bike looks right now;

Pat, do you happen to remember what style exhaust gasket you used with the Rush H-pipe?

I stopped by and picked up the standard HD tapered gaskets from the dealership yesterday, but after getting them home they sure don't look like they will work with the flange design on the Rush head pipes.

Update: New Pipes Installed

Finished the install yesterday afternoon. Stopped by a local Indy and picked up some James Gaskets tapered exhaust flange gaskets and used those this time around. They looked exactly like the OEM tapered Harley gasket, but man they went into the exhaust ports so much easier. Literally a dab of Dawn dish soap and they slid right in with just some gentle persuasion from my finger tips. Alignment and seal was perfect this time around (wife helped me with the alignment). The first time I was trying to do it by myself.

A couple buddies I rode with today really liked the sound (they are both running Rhinehart true duels and the Rhinehart 4" mufflers). I'm happy with the new head pipes. The quality, appearance and finish on the Rush heat shields isn't an nice as the Rhineharts, but considering the price I paid, I'm more than happy that I did something different. Both guys commented that my bike sounded different than anything that they had heard before. I've read that a lot of people don't like the SE Street Cannons with anything but a stock, catted head pipe. They say that it sounds "tinny" or it's too loud. But that's opposite of what I hear now. There is still a nice deep rumble, pipes are more than bearable at idle and cruising speeds but have a great bark when you rack it or get on it during acceleration.

The Rush pipes are doing great. No issues after the initial install and warranty replacement heat shields came in. The heat shield finish is wearing well after a 4K riding season, pipes sound great and I'm really happy with my decision.

Best of luck choosing the right pipes for you :)

Where did you buy your black CFRs from?

Merry Christmas!

Local Harley dealer has a set of double fluted ones and I bought the single fluted. I'm gonna go with rush head pipe.

My concern is that they're on the internet for 450-550 and dealer is asking 629

I bought mine from MX South's Amazon store front for $450 +/-

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HXC4996/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm always looking for a good buy, so I went that route. If you're going to do your own install I don't see any reason to "throw" money away at a dealership. When I noticed the coating issue with my heat shields I contacted Rush directly and they were quick to remedy the problem.

I added the Rush 7017 HO's last year, and while they are a tad bit louder than the stock header at freeway speeds, when you really get into the throttle, it really barks. Had a friend of mine say he could hear me as I got on the freeway from over a mile away. Of course I was going full boogy on the throttle so I am not surprised. Nice low rumble at idle too. Fitment was perfect.
