I was in a wreck in 97 ,broke my neck and back...they were suprised to see me walking normal again let alone riding. the Doc calls me Humpty Dumpty, won't be able to be put back together again if I fall..lol, but on the other side of things I'm slowly losing the use of my left leg and some time in the future it won't hold me and the bike up together....so I looked at the trikes his summer...too much money and hated the ride....then borrowed a friends hack for a couple of weeks and fell in love....bit the bullet and ordered one....was going to get a HD one but in the middle of my order HD decided to get out of the sidecar business and left me high and dry....ordered a aftermarket Motivation Spyder, it's a classic looking car and should work well with my bike.....will tell you tho....sidecar riding is a all new game....when you make a right turn and that car comes off the ground the first time it gets your undivided attention quick, fast and in a hurry!!!!!!!!!!!

oh I see! Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you are passionate about riding and not giving up!
Thats what I was wondering why not the Trike route.
I actually got lessons a few years ago by a 85 year old sidecar rider.
He actually pushed the bike with me on it sort of on a downhill slope, and made me get used to turning it before he actually let me fire the bike up.
After about 5-10 minutes of "practice" i had it fired up and was practicing turns and gradually getting the sidecar off the ground. Then I was looking over to my right to see how high I could get it off the ground safely. And yes it does feel like your gonna flip over, and you could if you corner too fast.
Left hand turns werent any easier as it feels like you just have to use all your muscles to make it go left.
FUN!
Again, cant wait to see it!

Very Cool! Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you are back in the wind. Looking forward to seeing pics when it's on.

You stated HD is out of the sidecar business. Could you elaborate on that? First I've heard of it.

Mid summer of 2010 HD announced that due to the rising sale of trikes they would no longer produce their signature sidecar because they weren't making enough money producing them. I guess the bean counters decided that three wheels are three wheels and the bottom line was more trikes sold means more money,if they eliminated the sidecar more people would be forced to buy their trike. (Comparing trikes to sidecars is like comparing tomatos to apples, but the HD bean counters don't see it that way.)

I had a HD sidecar ordered but the company didn't see fit to honor the order.
