SE Pro Street Tuner + Full System Exhaust? Yes or No?

Hi, this is for 2021 Road Glide Special.

I’m thinking about putting a Bassani Road Rage 3 2-1 Exhaust with S&S Teardrop Stealth or SE Air Intake (one that in 2022 ST stock)

When it comes to the tuner, does anyone use SE Pro Street Tuner with full exhaust like Road Rage?

According to my shop (pretty reputable and he knows what he is doing), SE Pro Street Tuner will work fine without any trouble. Actually this tuner has conservative range so wouldn’t hurt reliability.
Trade off is lack of customization and NOT the best possible performance.

  • I’m NOT trying squeeze every possible power from the set up.
  • I want a bit of improvement with the best reliability on the road.

Again the shop told me that SE Pro Street Tuner has enough range to cover full exhaust. So no problem.

Is there anyone who’s having this kind of set up? Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. I can't directly answer your questions as I have the HD high flow exhaust, from the header to the street cannons that come with that setup. I do have the pro street tuner, with HD stage 2 TQ cam. I am happy with this setup and I keep my warranty.

Thank you. :)
Actually I’m considering HD Power Kit + HD Tuner stage 2 just like you though I already bought a exhaust.

My shop says HD Tuner (though would not squeeze every ounce of performance) has enough range to cover because it supports your exhaust, full HD high flow. I point out that that still has CAT, but the shop says that wouldn’t make considerable difference.

My dealer is happy to cover warranty as long as I stay with HD tuner. (I know, the warranty is not between me and a dealer but between MoCo and me.) I rarely travel far, and easily switch exhaust for those occasions if needed. I honestly do not see those possibility.

Thank you for the reply.

When i got my 20RGL i did all the work myself. I used a Rhinehart head pipe w/o cats and Tab mufflers, and a SE intake. I also used a SE auto tune with wide band o2 sensors. When I did the tune I selected air cleaner and exhaust and did the download fired it up and took it out for a ride..... All done took 15 min to do the auto tune download.

I have a 2020 RGS stage 2 TQ cam, full V&H power dual exhaust , Ventilator elite AC,
Pro Street Tune with Smart Tune The bike has run well for me. This bike exhibits NO heat issues and runs quiet. Around 7000miles bike started acting up 2nd and 3rd gear 2000 rpms then smoothed out. At the time of purchase I was told that the auto tune keeps everything in order I was skeptical.Being old school I dyno any build. Ran it this way 800 miles until winter storage. With the tuners mentioned had the dealer Dyno. The tech reported the tune was
” a mess” I have not rode it yet it came in at 108 hp/ 124 Tq.As an older rider I will not go further.I want to comment about tuners. I have owned 7 Harleys and have the tuners of 4 builds 2 black Pro Street, 1 Orange, and a Power Vision.
I did a 107 build, stock heads, dealer Dyno with the orange SE pro tuner 106 hp.108 Tq
Ran really nice for the first season.Next season thought I could get more out of it. Got a Power Vision took it to FM for a custom map.Final numbers 104 hp112 tq !
The reason I add this is all the sages who spend endless money chasing every last hp is a total waste of time and money. The SE pro tune in the hands of the right tech will get you where you want to be AND have some beer and burger money left.Good Luck with your bike and build.

Going to necro an old thread here- I'm planning on upgrading to a Stage 4 131 over the winter. The original plan was to use the 131 as a base upgrade kit, and add in a better cam, adjustable pushrods, better lifters, bigger injectors, and a PV tune.

That said, I'm considering doing it in two stages- the bike is brand new, and I am still within my 60 day window to have the kit fall under the factory warranty.

My dealer has said that I can use any exhaust I want, that Harley is most concerned with the tuner and the exhaust will fly under the radar. They also are telling me that the ECU flash for the stage 4 kit will be "close enough" with an aftermarket exhaust, as the stage 4 kit already includes the high flow headpipe and is intended to be used with upgraded Street Cannon slip ons.

I worry that the tune will be too far off and that the bike will run a bit lean, resulting in added wear and tear. Again, the idea is to upgrade the cam and tune, either now or later, and I don't want to sacrifice the longevity of the motor in the name of short term warranty.

Has anyone measured their AFR with any of the canned tunes? Any long term updates on any of these?

Thanks!

i don't have the info you're looking for, but i just wanted to add that even though the kit includes a high flow headpipe, that is really irrelevant. the street cannons for that kit have catalytic converters in them. so you still have the cat restriction, it's just moved to a different spot.

I just traded to a RGST with the 117. I really want a 2 into 1 Bassani mid length pipe. Nobody will tell me it’s OK with the SE tuner. Fuel moto told me just don’t do it unless you go PV. I’m not losing my warranty, especially all the problems my 19 gave me.
