Seat upgrade

So I am going to upgrade my stock seat but I am not sure which seat I should go with. I have read reviews on Saddleman Road Sofa and Mustang touring seat. I know everyone has their opinions but I am looking for people who have the seats on on their bike. I do ride at times 8-12 hours so I need something comfortable. Thanks in advance for your response.

Well I'll Start. I put Russell Cycle Products Day Long seat on my second bike last week. I also do much highway riding and trips in excess of 8 hours are the norm. As you stated, everyone has a favorite, and there are so many seats out there that no one has tried them all. However when I am shopping for bike seats my go to is Russell Day Long seat.

About two months ago I switch out to the mustang super touring deluxe. I have ridden some three to four hour trips several times. It's really comfortable and the wife loves it. I did have a chance to sit on a road sofa for a few minutes in a show room. I have heard in takes a little while to break in but I sat higher up and the passenger seat wasn't a wide as the mustang was. Just my opinion.

Did it raise you up and if so how much. I love the way it looks on you glide.

Thank you. I don't think much at all. The one thing I did notice it's wider between your legs. But it does set you back 1.75" which was nice for me.
While I had my Road Zeppelin, I sent my stock seat off to Mean City Cycles. I had rider and passenger tail bone channels cut and memory foam added. Also asked for 1" lowering. I have been riding on the MCC seat for over 2 years now with at least 16k miles on it. I still love it.

I used a Mustang for years , even had it rework with memory foam ...for shorter rides very comfortable, longer rides no so much. Went to Corbin , their seats are hard as a brick, I now can ride all day, the most comfortable seat I’ve ever owned. Harder is more comfortable doesn’t make sense to me but it works.

Corbin makes a nice seat. I like mine and I have put about 7K on this one

I have the Mustang Super Tour and this is my best Mustang seat I have owned , sits my lower and back, super comfy I go for easy 8 to 10 hour rides and my wife loves it in conjunction with the Mustang wrap around pad on the tour pak, it's all I ever run on my touring bikes.

I had a Corbin Dual Tour on my FLHTK, had no problem spending 20 hours in the saddle. I now have a 2014 CVO Ultra Heated Leather Hammock on my FLTRU and it's every bit as comfortable as the Corbin, even though it's not as hard.

I will soon be looking for a new seat. I agree with the poster that said harder is better. The stock seat feels soft and you would think that is great until you have been in the saddle for several hours and find your butt on the pan. I need something firm and if it raises me a inch or so, then more the better. I am 6'1" and a seat that raises me in the saddle is a good thing.
I got the Ultimate seat this year and after the break in I have spent many a 10 hour day on it and it it has been the most comfy seat I’ve ever owned. Corbin is a very close second. Just my thoughts.

Saddleman, Corbin, Mustang, La Pera all make great seats. A seat is so personalized. Only thing I can recommend is get one that is firm and it will break in nicely. Good luck
Another vote for Ultimate. I have the long reach solo seat with their back rest. I am 6'7" and it sets up and back both. They do need to break in, but this is my second one. I have had a road sofa also, and liked it.

I rode 80,000+ miles on my Mustang Super Touring seat. Last year I switched to a Saddleman Road Sofa. I have traveled two thousand miles on it, and I am still trying to break it in. I am holding out hope it will become as comfortable as the Mustang. But I am starting to have thoughts of going back to my Mustang. The sofa is a sharp seat.
Word on the street and from the mouths of friends with Saddleman seats are that they are far too stiff and don't ever break in quite right. They look great, but we all know comfort is the biggie. For me and my wife, we settled on the Le Pera Marverick seat and love it with ZERO complaints about it.

My Road Sofa broke in just fine and I can ride all day on my saddle no problems; I have done an Iron Butt on it and recetly did a 14 hour, 823 mile ride on it without issue. So, internet gossip usually comes from those that don't like something, rather than from praise. Seats are so subjective, though.

Mustang Super Tour here. Had it worked over by Mean City Cycles with the double decker memory foam treatment.
