It is snowing its but off here and I have cabin fever bad.I like many of us am dreaming of spring and the open road.Boss and I always have a good time on our road trips. So if you have a fun or funny story from a bike trip share it love to read it.I will go first. It was a few years back during Arkansas BBQ Boss,My best buddy and his wife had planned a trip to Hot Springs ARK. for a long weekend we had been to BBQ the year before and wanted to ride but didn't need the rally.Another couple was going to meet us in Harrison later in the weekend because they were going to the rally they had never been.We spent a 2 days their and we were taking scenic 7 back to Harrison. For the trip I had stopped and bought Bike to bike head sets now Boss and I still had the RK. my buddy a eglide classic. So the girls got the headsets!! Both wifes love to chat it up I mean all the way down and all the way home My buddy would slow down to get out of range to give it a break! He had a radio I didn't so don't know what he was winning about. We had just stopped at the bottom of the mountain in the flat lands south of Russelville Had a pottybreak and had got back on the road heading north we in the flats the girls were just chatting it up bla bla bla you know.I told Kell to tell Denice that when I got a chance I was going to pass this pickup and trailer we were behind it was a flat bed and shit was bouncing off of it.So I got a opening and took off hit 115 going around it and ducked back in my buddy got around and made it back in the girls were chatting it up big time I just looked down to check my speed 75 and pop my back tire blew the back end of the bike was a shaking Kell never missed a beat just kept on talking while I slowed the bike to a stop when I got the bike stopped on the side of the road she came up to my ear and asked me what the hell was I doing I said we had a blow out she said we did she says Denice don't leave us we had a blow out.She never missed a beat talking about what ever they were talking about I said didn't you fill the bike shaking and she said she thought I was doing it just to get them to shut up.How I got the tire fixed is another great road story in itself.I hope you guys don't mind I am just so ready to get the bike out and see another state.I love the Boss she makes it so much fun!!

Good one. Funny. If your looking to pass the time I'd recommend these 3 stories - If you haven't already done so (threw one of mine in there from last September ride..work in progress still!).

ok, how'd you fix the tire?
Well we are sitting on 7 highway no shoulder were she went flat there is a few houses that sit along there a guy pulled into his drive up ahead of us.I asked if he cared if we used his drive to get the bike off the highway he said sure.Well I am a hog member and called them first this is Saturday about 2:00 pm the weekend of BBQ.rally Well Hog was kind but no help They wanted to send Hot Springs out to tow the bike back Now it is the closest but Little Rock is faster because of the mountains. The RK was a classic so wired wheels and tube.Stared calling shops in Russelville Most were close and at the rally.I got a hold of a girl at a custom shop in Russelville they were closing but would stay for me to get a tube. Now the guy who let us use his drive also let us use his phone book, his shop and his tools I went to get the tube on my buddy's E glide I do all the trip planing and knew were to get the tube so he stayed and started to take the wheel off.We got the tube.Took off the wheel and fond a hunk of cast iron shaped like a arrow head in the tire .It had torn the tire up pretty good and the tube was had.The Home owner had a hot patch for the tire so we hot patched the tire and put in the new tube put the bike back together and got her off his jack.I k pulled out a MR.Ben Franklin and offered it to the guy who spent three hours with us he said no I said Grant would like to stay here he said no He rode Gold wings and said he knows what it was like to get stranded So we saddled up and headed to Harrison meet the other couple spent the night. We had a lot of mountain riding still to ride so I was uneasy about the tire but she did well till we got home which I replace that week.I bet your sorry you asked. But Boss and I meet the best in people when we or out on the bike I think that is what we love the most about it.:)

Nah, I'm not sorry I asked. In a way it restores some faith in people who kindly assist us without expectations of anything in return. I'll have to share one or two of my dumbassery stories a little later.
