I have heard nothing but good comments on them. Some say they are the best stock shocks that harley makes. Some have said that they are one step down from the progessive 940's, but NOT much.
I plan on getting some this winter. I like the idea that you don't have to worry about air leaking out. It may take some time to dial them up, but everyone that I have talked to or read about them say. Once you dial them in, they are awesome. They hd manual is spot on for weight for solo or 2 up riding.

Good Luck & Ride Safe!

yea i have been thinking about getting some. i'am like you,you don't have to worry about air leaking out. there $499.95 in the book. but you can get them from chicago harley for $399.96 was looking at the 940's too. i guess either one would be okay.although the 940's cost more.

DP,

Thanks for the heads up w/ Chicago harley discount. My local dealer here has
a awesome deal twice a year. They do this coat drive around Jan/Feb. Come in and get 10% off. Bring in 4 coat/jackets and get 40% off.(ea coat is 10% off that your bring in) Total discount 50% off up to $500.00 total. So, something that cost $1000.00 will only be $500.00.
Then they have a Ride discount come May/June. Ride to any of their locations (she owns 5), get a % discount at one location, ride to another and get a modifier. Say you get 50% discount and add the modifier x2. You now get 100% discount off, up to $500.00 off.
Sorry so long, this is when i usually get my extra stuff for my roadie. If all works well, I plan on getting new "hand adjust" shocks and rear speaker pods.
Anytime I CAN get a deal from the MOCO, I'm there!!!
Hell, It's worth the ride if anyone is from out of town to get this discount.

I have them on my 2010.
They didn't lower it any from stock as it was already supposed to be 1" lower than normal.
The dealer gave me a pretty good discount on them.I got my stock shocks replaced under warranty and only had to pay the difference between the two.:D
IMHO, they make the bike new again. It does not bottom out like before.
The ride is firmer and it seems to be planted better.
I run it with the preload backed off all the way when riding one up W/O the tour pack. With the tour pack and my navigator on back the preload is adjusted about half.
I have Wilburs shocks on another bike and I would compare them to the HD ones.
They are definitely an improvement over the stock shocks!
If there was only something we could do for the front end.

Sounds like another Hampton Roads rider! I took advantage of that coat drive last year. My wife and I each took 4 coats in and I spent 1k on 2k worth of gear to complete the Ultra conversion. I already have a list of items I'm working on for this years coat drive. Oh and I'm digging up more old coats the kids out-grew.

Hey Yellowbird, what dealer is it, where are they and when is the coat drive? Seems like a great excuse to take a road trip and save some money. I can load up my saddle bags with coats and get a great deal on these shocks.

Cyclotron,

Yes sir, you are correct! Me too, already getting some coats together for the winter mods! You can't beat it, that's for sure!

Dres,

The owner actually owns 5 locations in the tidewater or "Hampton roads" area. two are "real" hd shops and the other 3 are soft goods. (everything but bikes)
If I am correct it happens in Jan/Feb. The dealers are SouthSide Harley in Virginia Beach on Witchduck Road, and the one is Hampton Roads Harley in Yorktown on RT17.
It's usually on a Saturday for the coat drive. It would be worth it to take a weekend ride down and save A LOT OF $$$$$$$
I will stop by the dealer and find out the exact date and post the date for you.
