Has anybody heard of or used Skar Audio speakers? My buddy said they’re getting very popular in the marine world because they’re good speaker but a fraction of the price of JL and Wet Soundz. Right now they’re having a tax season sale so it’s real cheap for two 6.5” speakers.

@Peter1003 I get your point. My buddy is on a fishing forum that similar to this one where people actually get along and he said a lot of people are starting to put them in their boats. They actually have a lot of good reviews.

My biggest concern is fitting it in the pod. I’ll order a set and see how difficult it is to get it to fit. If they fit, I’ll try them out and update everyone on how they sound. I’m not going for competition sound, just something decent I can hear on the highway

If those speakers are as pictured I seriously doubt they will fit in your bike. I agree 90% of the speakers out there sound better than OEM, but why not buy a set that at least looks like they may fit?

those are good speakers , i have been using them for a couple years (wherever I can that is). Problem is…. They are oversized speakers. They are advertised as a 6.5 but are more like a 6.8, they have a big basket and face of the speaker is also huge(real thick). best Bang for your buck in my opinion. But they will not fit a 6.5 opening without modification.

To no surprise, they do not fit in the road glide fairing. I was looking for some sort of adapter to mount them higher so the magnet can fit but couldn’t find anything. Only saw a 5.25” to 6.5” adapter for pre-Rushmore bikes. I ended up selling to my buddy who recommended them and he’s going to use them in his boat.
I’ll either be getting Hertz or GZ yellow baskets instead

Check these out, I put the ferrite versions in mine and just needed to use a heat gun to warp the pods a bit. These would drop right in and they should give you quite a bit more than the Herty or GZ yellow baskets.

Technically they're not, but I've had mine playing in a tropical storm so I don't thing you'll have any issues. The way I saw it was I could buy 3 or 4 pairs of these for 1 set of the GZ's and they're going to be comparable in sound. They're rated at 150 watts rms and I've been running them at 200 watts without an issue.
