I thought there was an item in the menu to increase. However mine is not that bright either.

I have a 4100 and I cant see Sh*t.... except at night lol

 

I've always had to shade mine to see it, same with my wifes Kenwood....I've gotten use to it.

 

Thanks guys ... I appreciate the feed back. I was told the marine units are more visible during the day. I'm liking some of the added features with the 4100 and 710. I guess I will have to get use to the lack of visibility.

 

Does it give the option to go red or blue? I like the blue but the red shows up better in the daylight.

 

On my SonyDSX-MS60 with the contrast turned all the way I can read it from my regular riding position which is a lowered seat and slightly raised fairing.

 

I've got a Sony marine unit, not sure what model it is as it came with the bike. I've been able to see the display w/o any trouble any time of day so far.

Can't say much else about it, hope it helps.

I haven't been able to play with the Sony since posting the thread. It does have different color options. I will be messing with them to see if one or another works better. I've made up my mind to stick with either the Sony 710 or Sony 4100p because of the added features.

If ya can, buy a second faceplate off eBay. In case someone steals or it breaks. You can find for cheap and it has saved my butt already.

I just installed a Alpine UTE-42BT using Hawg Wired set up. I cant see anything either.

I am wondering the same thing. Is there a deck you can see in the daylight.

 

Yet to find but I will say this, I blackout my HU (says it provides more power) and can say it does sound better. Figured I would throw it out there. Of course I may be delusional
