Any of you folks using this head unit Sony DSXS310BTX? Can you see it in the sunlight?

Thx

Not full direct sunlight it is so so. I have only had mine installed for 4 months and already starting to have face plate connection issues. I recommend getting Bluetooth it is awesome with the iPhone, especially when it rains

Forget which Sony I put in, but no, can't see in sunlight. I don't think very many of the aftermarkets you can see due to angle in the RG. Hands down the HK has best visibility, too bad thats all its good for.

Flace plate connection issue? Please explain... I ask because I thought the display was going out on mine and the other day I opened and closed it and the display came back on.

Try the Alpine 149 and I think you'll change your mind, I can see it very well in the sunlight, I just changed from a Sony last month.

I bought the universal HW even though I had a Sony for this exact reason. ...... in case I ever decided to change. I only had to change one dip switch, now everything works fine.

Hey, db
Does the Alpine sound better than the Sony did? I'm thinking about doing the same switch. Been running the Sony media player for a few years now and am liking the idea of being able to have Bluetooth with the Alpine AND being able to see it in the daytime.

I checked the Alpine web site and it didn't say anything about how the 149 stood up to weather.
Can you provide any detail about that?

I don't know if I can honestly say it sounds better, the sound quality is really close, but there is no comparison in the amount of features. I also spent a few extra bucks and got Sirius, I'm really happy with the unit so far. One additional feature that I didn't think I would like but love now is the usb and auxiliary jack in the rear instead of the front, I bought an adapter and mounted it in the glove compartment, now my mp3 and memory stick are completely out of sight with no visible cords.

Ive had the sony for over a year now with no problems. The connection issue is a simple fix. i put some dielectric grease on the connection and havent had an issue since. Yeah the display is hard to see in direct sunlight but i love it. I bought it mostly for the tune tray as i keep my ipod stored in it.
