Fat boy front end, batwing bars, 350 small block, 2spd powerglide?, nova rear end? Just guessing

WideGlide(I think) front, OEM baars off my '01 Ultra, late roller cam 350 Chevy, turbo 350, Ford 9" narrowed to 50".

Here the build pics:
http://www.tdkmotorsports.com/trikebuild/trikebuild.html

Took 2 years to build, state inspected and licensed in November of 2007.
Sadly, due many factors, including selling/buying/moving to a different house in 2008, tornado recover in 2009, broken leg in 2010, new RGU in 2011, it's got less than 700mi on the clock. If I could find someone with $10,000 cash it'd go away.
Most of the fun for me is in the build.

I had SF years ago and had problems with them after a claim. I fought with them for almost 3 months at which time they cancelled my policy. Several months later they sent me a letter admitting that they were at fault and wanted me to come back. I told them to piss up a rope.

All my insurances are now through one agency and my 3 HD's have Full coverage for the entire year. My insurance is through AARP Foremost and I pay $642.00 a year including accessories.

I have been with SF since 1983 and no complaints, but I have never filed a claim except for windshields on the cars. Everything we have is insured thru them. My yearly full coverage on the 09 is only $355.

I shopped around previously with other insurance carriers but no one could match what I get from SF.

Bike insurance

Just did a quick check on rates from Allstate. I got info in the mail saying they now insure bikes in New Jersey, and if you combine policies they offered a discount.
What a laugh.
Even with the discounts they were higher then my current insurance company for my bikes, Foremost.
As for the car and house policies, they were so high even the agent said they have never saw rates that cheap.
My current home and auto policy is with a small company named American Commerce, Columbus Ohio. Great rates.
Needless to say I didn't switch.

When I had my '08 Wide Glide I paid $520/yr thru Progressive. I switched to State Farm and it dropped to $280/yr for same coverages. I bought my '12 Road Glide and it is now only $320/yr. It's worked well for me so far.

As for the MI helmet repeal, I'm skepticle the increase was due to the help law repeal. Also, regarding the story about the person that got hurt: yes it's a sad story. Riding motorcycles is a dangerous business. Take it seriously. However, I CHOOSE to ride and I don't need the government to protect me from myself, my hobbies, or my freedoms. NO amount of "safer crashing" will ever replace "safer riding", no matter how much you legislate.

State farm ins for motorcycles sucks. If you have them and never have a M.C. claim your fine. But if you do file a M.C. claim you will regret having state farm. I'm only talking M.C. here nothing else. They might be great with auto and or home claims. This is from MY personal experience.

Any chance you want to elaborate so we better understand "why"?

disclosing what you pay for insurance is irrelevant unless you include your level of coverage, if you have uninsured motorist, amount of accessory coverage and annual miles covered.

For my 2013 Road Glide Custom I have Allstate and I'm paying $854 year.

My coverage includes:
-Liability 100,000/300,000
-Property 100,000
-Uninsured 100,000/300,000
-Accessory 6,000
-Ded 1,000 for collision & 100 for Comp
-No medical
-est miles driven 10,000-12,000

I have State Farm for the bikes and Allstate for home/auto. Can't get better rates anywhere else, even between the two, it is really bizarre. I have had very positive experiences with both, and have had to unfortunately file claims on both auto and MC.

Less than two months after I started my MC policy with State Farm the wife and I wnet down in Florida during bike week. After getting back to the condo from the hospital I called State Farm. When we arrived back home Monday I already had voice mails from the adjuster and my agent. The adjuster traveled to my friends house to look the bike over the same day. My agent offered to come to my house to pick up the medical bill paperwork and get it filed. Got my initial offer totaling the bike out on Tuesday, went back and forth a little describing the minor mods on the bike, agreed on Wednesday to the offer (I decided to keep the bike as it was cosmetic), my agent delivered the check to my house on Thursday. Rates didn't go up, and after repairs took it to the agents office and gave copies of receipts and full coverage was reinstated.

Have had to file a couple of car claims with Allstate (son rear ended someone, he hit a deer and hail damage to the wifes). Not quite as fast but still prompt and fair service, no rate increase, although I pay for the accident forgiveness.

Sure, I'll explain why I say that State Farm Ins SUCK when it come to motorcycle claims.
My 2012 RG Ultra in very good condition with 61,312 miles, was recently totaled by State Farm, (I laid it down not them). Including $815 out of my $3,000 of extras they felt like paying, the offer is $12,862 ( rounded). They are supposed to pay Full Retail. Full retail is closer to 22K. Their adjuster will not budge on that offer, even after I showed him Kelly blue book, Nada and legitimate sales of the same M.C.
There is NO negotiating, take it or leave it. He also said I could withdraw my claim or buy it back and have a salvage title and receive a check for $5875.
I hope you can understand why I say what I do, and can now agree with me.

It doesn't matter if anyone cares if you have a problem with why you think they suck if you think they do that's all that matters. I've had them for 30 years and yes they suck when you finally have a claim and they raise your rates and I've never had a wreck since I've had them and this didn't even involve another car I jackknifed my trailer in a ice storm last winter. I think their all sorry bastards

2012 rg with 63k is worth "maybe" $15k at the dealer full retail in Memphis, Brimingham, St Louis, Louisville, New Orleans or Dallas.

I don't know where you get $22k? I paid $19,3 for my new 13 FLTRU last Oct. Locally Used 13's with less than 10k sell for maybe $20k. They sticker at $22k.

It still sucks to walk away from the table with State Farm feeling raped.

Happened twice over 20 years ago to me and I still hurt!

When it's declared a total loss the insurance co is supposed to pay full retail plus options. Where as with Harley, as they say "We sell chrome, we don't buy chrome" won't normally pay anything for add-on chrome etc.
I had a private appraisal done and they came up with a 22,7k full value pre-accident for this bike.
Now I'm waiting to see what state farms private appraisal comes up with.

You may have invested large amounts of $$$ in modifying and customizing this bike, but if so a main stream insurer like State farm was not the way to go. There are insurance ciompanies that will insure a custom vehicle for any amount you like, the vehicle's value agreed upon in advance. You pay much more for this type of coverage, of course.

You know, or should know, that you never get out of a bike what you put into it in the way of upgrades, modifications and customization. Highly modified/customized bikes are, in fact, much harder to sell than stock bikes.

But the amount that State Farm paid you sounds much more like the wholesale value of a stock bike rather than retail.

You are correct. My extras were only approx $3,000. I'll go to court before I allow them to screw me like they're trying to do. They're supposed to pay full retail plus extras up to $3k. I'll accept a fair settlement, not a low wholesale number. This bike was in excellent shape, very well taken care of and well serviced.

I have my car insurance with State Farm in Canada. They are reasonable for cars. Motorcycles are pricey. My bike is not insured with State Farm, I have had quotes from SF for greater that 1000.00. My current insurer charged me $750.00 Ca. for 2014. I think that is not too bad. My father in law is billed over $1400.00 for his 2014 UltraGlide.

I've had State Farm since I was 16 and got my license, I'm 54 now. They will never drop me (although the rates could get very high). I have had claims over they years, never seen my rates jump on any of them. I have the house, 2007 Avalanche, 2014 Silverado, 2013 Camaro SS 1LE, 2014 Yamaha FJR and the 2016 Road Glide Special all insured with them, along with a limited liability umbrella policy.

I have shopped around every couple of years with Progressive, Geico, Foremost, etc., etc. I have found insurance a little cheaper, but the problem I run into is if I go that route, these other companies don't have umbrella policies, or if I find home insurance cheaper, they don't cover bikes, etc. Also, if I insure something like the bikes with another company, then my umbrella policy rates go up and it ends up being a wash. I also carry a couple of riders with them for my camera equipment (about $25k worth) and my wife's jewelry.

The bikes are both just over $300 per year for full coverage, coverage list below, I live in the Twin Cities metro area (which also is a big influence on your rates).

My coverage includes:
-Liability 100,000/300,000
-Property 100,000
-Uninsured 100,000/300,000
-Accessory 6,000
-$1000 deductible ($250 deductible for the bikes)

State Farm only covers the base model

I pay $455.00 per year on my 2010 Roadglide
$295.00 per year on the wifes 2007 Sporty
$443.00 per year on my 2009 Buell

I had 3 claims last year on my auto policy and yes my rates went up some but they have stuck with my and repaired all my damages. I have not had any claims with any of our bikes yet.

Hope this helps someone. I give 5 Stars to State Farm.
I have State Farm and I have had them covering my bikes for 20-years. Recently I bought an '18 RG Special and then added another $20k+ in parts (Stage-4, headers, D&D Fat Cats, Arc Audio amp, Focal speakers, lower fairings, blah, blah, blah,). I called State Farm to increase my coverage and found that they only cover the stock bike with zero add-ons and they won't offer replacement value, only depreciated value. So, I went shopping for insurance. I found that Geico base rate is about the same as State Farm but they will insure for the value of the bike with all upgrades. The problem is my insurance premiums would go from around $500 per year to over $1,000 per year. Well, I'm still with State Farm and hoping I never have to make a claim.

I got the Farm on the house, but they couldn't come close to the Gecko on wheels, even with the bundling discount. Never had a claim on either, but they both sure seem nice collecting my premiums. :)
