Does anyone know what size the stock cam is on the 15 RG? The shop told me it is a 254. Man my 10 with the 103 kit will 255, will just about run circles around the 15. And all things are equal except the cams. The only thing I can think of, the pistons aren't stock with the 103 kit from Harley.
Also the brakes don't seem to brake as well either. Jeez, is there a way to swap to the non braking system on this thing?
Thanks, Guys

The new OEM cam is not a 254 or 255. It's a new grind that is close to a 255 in timing and duration but not lift.
It's a good all around cam that is miles ahead of the 2013 and below OEM cam but will not perform as great as a real 255 in the bottom end.

Both bikes have the race tuner. The 15 actually has higher numbers, as far as horse power. But it's not as quick as the 10. The 10 is more fun to ride and will get to 80mph a lot faster. I'm thinking of some 777s cams and flow the heads. That should wake it up. Heck right now the 10 gets better fuel mileage right now. I'm thinking the 15 will improve with some more miles on it. Only a couple of thousand right now.

The 777 cams are a higher compression cam and it will not work well in your bike without major engine work.
Save your money and get a good tune first and don't look at HP look at torque.
There isn't that much difference between the 2015 stock cam and the SE255 cam.

Stock cam
Lift .511 intake .511 exhaust
Duration 212 intake 233 exhaust
timing - intake 02 BTDC/30 ABDC - Exhaust 43 BBDC/ 10 ATDC

SE 254E cam
Lift .535 intake .536 exhaust
Duration 224 intake 234 exhaust
Timing - intake 01 ATDC/43 ABDC - Exhaust 50 BBDC / 04 ATDC

SE 255 cam
Lift .556 intake .556 exhaust
Duration 211 intake 235 exhaust
Timing - intake 06 BTDC/ 25 ABDC - exhaust 48 BBDC/07 ATDC

As you can see the stock cam is closer to the SE255 cam in duration also the intake open before BTDC and close earlier ATDC which is common with low torque cams, the SE 255 has a little more low end torque because the intake opens and closes sooner then the stock cam, and the low end torque is what will get you up to speed faster.
But in all reality there isn't too much of a difference between the SE 225 cam and the stock cam except that the stock cam will have a little less on the bottom end and a little more top end.
I have a 2015 engine in my 2008 with the stock cam which is the same cam your'e using and I like the way it performs but that's JMO.

Just for reference:
Take in mind the HO-103 cam (black) is stock without A/C, pipes, tuner. Once those are added it would be close to the SE-255 which I'm guessing is probably the blue line. I dunno.

Ironmark, I here ya. I went to a local shop today and talked the the main man, I'm just checking all the options out locally first. I'm not going crazy just what it to run at least as well as the 10. Both bikes are tuned by a pretty good tuner. I also want it to be reliable. If you get a hung cam then you're slamming the valve train.
lp, I feel you are right, I may just get a real 255. It's a proven cam and very reliable. It's a lot of fun, and snappy. I'll keep ya posted on what I come up with.
I don't want a fire breathing dragon that I can;t rely on. I have a good bike as a bench mark. It's a long story, but the 10 has a new crank, cases, clutch, and compensator. all under ESP.

I am gonna guess the 259e they put in the 120ST. With no key I would guees the cams go in order of chart top to bottom = bottom to top.

All right, Installed the 255 cams S&S lifters and timken inner bearings. I haven't got it tuned yet but I can already tell I'm going to love it. You roll that throttle and the old girl gets it. Just from the seat of the pants feeling of the acceleration is fun to ride. I like the torque it gives the bike verses a cam that hits later in the power band. For me it feels good again, all the nay Sayers that state the the new cams are as good as the 255s I say they are so wrong.
I think I'm done with her for now. The only thing left to do is rack up some miles. Although I would love to chrome the stock wheel. Who am I kidding' it is never ending.hehehe
Thanks' for all the input.

Not sure yet. I moved to college Station a few years ago. I got it tuned at Cowboy in Beaumont last time. I've had good luck at Stubbs. There my favorite H-D shop. I'm going to talk with Independence and talk to the tuner there. I guess I'm stuck with a dealer sense I have SERT.
