S&S any day of the week. A stock crank is only good for so much even when it is worked over. To really build one to stand up to abuse you need to upgrade the rods, weld, balance, and even then you are still stuck with the stock cast flywheels. By the time that is all done you are close to the cost of an S&S crank. Once you have handled the two side by side you will see the difference.
If you are looking to build a bike into a 117" or 124" and if you are buying an S&S crank then you may as well buy the stroker and go 124". Costs between the two cranks are the same. Kill it with cubic inches. Stock cases are fine and will be bored to the same dimensions for either.
