Well I've decided to go the heated grip route on my 12 Road Glide Custom and yes I'm aware of heated gloves. I just picked up a pair of 1 1/4" chubby 10" harley brand mini apes and the grip ends shrink back down to 1" I don't want heated gloves, they don't fit my hands, I have rather small oddly shaped hands hands so the heated grips would be a better choice, I have the Harley Aileron grips and HD makes them in a heated grip version, any other brands that people have and using feel free to let me know. If no other good suggestions come out, I'll most likely get a hold of Jon and Horny Toad HD and pick up the Heated Aileron grips.

I also have small hands and I mostly wear women's gloves. If they are plain who can tell. However, some of the designs are obviously women's.

I have hears that the Harley brand are subject to shorting out in rain. some of my friends have referred the aftermarket brands. FWIW

Avon makes grips with heat demons made into the grip,I've heard good things but have no personal experience. I put heat demons that go inside of bars and they don't get very warm, I have kuryakyn grips.

I've always used HD heated grips, never had a problem with them, and they do work very well. I've heard that others have had them quit working on them, but not here.

I have the HD version they work well untill temperature starts to really drop. Bought some heated gloves to solve that problem.

I also have HD heated grips, got them from Jon at Horny Toad Harley for a great price, they have been on for a year now, rode in rain and have been wet several times, and they still work great.

If you're going the heated grip route I recommend the stock Limited grips. They last longer then the styled H-D grips and work better. I have them on my '11 RGU and love them

I'm lovin my Avon Velvet heated grips, with the 10" mini ape's your hands are in the wind a little more, but your hands stay really warm.
Plus it gets a little chilly in the Northwest in the winter, WELL most wintersnot so much this one!
