Looks like we might be finally heading out hopefully the 10th or 12th of this month to ride the Beartooth. Question is, how many of you have ever been there, hows the gas, food and motels along the way?
We are going to start at Red Lodge and Lord knows where we are going to end up. Looks to be a nice ride. Some of the switch-backs look like they could be a lot of fun (I'm pulling my trailer), that ought to raise the pucker factor a bit.

We did Beartooth and Chief Joesph last year, started at Red Lodge ended up in Cody. Bring warm clothes it gets cold at 10,000 ft. Gas should be no problem.
Red Lodge fills up fast you should get reservations a day a head. We stayed at the Kings Inn in Cody http://www.kingsinncody.com/ nice place, Next door to Kings is the Whiskey river bar, bikers cowboys & locals :D

Thanks for the heads-up on the reservations. We'll do just that. Looks like some good country.

Your gonna love it...

Your in for a great ride. We rode Beartooth a couple of years ago. No problem with the gas, we camped--where, I can't remember to save my life...The pass is definitly a cold ride at the top. There was still quite a bit of snow on the ground when we did it. We got there the first week of July... Have a safe ride.:D

My wife and I rode the Beartooth in early July this year. There was a bit of snow the day before and lots of snow the next day. They are repaving a good bit of it. Fresh blacktop in some places and gravel in others. No guide rails in some spots. Plenty of tight turns. It wil be cold and fun. Fabulous views.

If you go from red Lodge to Cody, stop at the RV park (on left) just after you turn left on the Chief Joseph. Their dining room is great.
