Ok seeing @thedude ‘s thread made me think that just this year alone we’ve had a bunch of folks make the decision to go all in and say fuck financial responsibility. Best I can recall quickly…..

Myself
@DannyDaPorkchop
@tj316
@SteadyEddie
@thedude

check in here folks and throw up a pic of your newly found cash drain 🤣

Marc, congrats on the new CVO. Love the color scheme. We're finally seeing some terrific color schemes, and even solid colors introduced over the past 2-3 years ... a noticeable improvement! Did Willy G. come back out of retirement?

I assume (I know....it makes an ass out of u & me) that most of us who have been fortunate enough to obtain a CVO (or any other bike) can afford it without putting ourselves into financial distress. I think it is awesome that we have these first world problems like what color, what pipe and what cam do I put in it. We are all blessed to be able to have the kool toys that we do!

Well, looking at what’s been happening over these couple of months, I feel it’s only right that I bring this to attention of our moderators(except the ones that have already fallen victim). There should be a warning before anybody is able to read this thread. Everyone should have to sign an agreement that this forum is not responsible for any decisions the reading of this thread might cause. (Some great looking bikes in this thread)

Just saying 😱

I knew this was going to happen. That's one of the reasons I traded two CVOs in last year on a peasant bike. Didn't want to be hanging out with the likes of some of these characters. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Now quit posting pix of that Raven Fade or I'll have to go back into debt. :oops:

Honestly, no. There’s nothing on a CVO you can’t go and make happen yourself. However… you’ll spend way more. Getting my hands on a CVO last year was me telling myself I’d finally found my “forever bike”. It was gently used, so I rationalized that I could buy this one or get a base model 24 for the same price. I don’t see 100 of the same bike on the road, and there’s a little bit of a sense of exclusivity, although there’s still 954 more like mine out there in the world.

I ran the numbers while shopping for my 24 CVO. It’s way more expensive to add the upgrades to a stock RG. Not to mention less time doing the upgrades means more time with the sun on your back while riding….

There’s always gonna be some customizations - even to a CVO- but I found as a self wrencher- my time will be better spent on the bike rather than along side the bike in the garage.
Speaking about sun on your back, how is the new UI when the sun is directly on it? Hopefully not as bad as the glare on my '18 infotainment screen.

To me no , the price keeps going up and you get less and less .. That being said , if I win the lottery or if @BobRG15 donates me his or if @tj316 unazzez some of his jingle , or if @SteadyEddie feels sorry for me , I would definitely acquire one , other wise I still love my 11 Ultra in Ultra Rare vivid black with 96000 miles on it ..

As other's mentioned...I spent a small fortune on building my Limited into a "performance tourer". I loved that bike but had way more into it financially than what I have on this new one. Now of course I'm not done making it mine but it came pretty close to what I wanted straight out of the gate. Most of all, there are little features about it that you can't technically get with the traditional bike.

I'm not saying this is the end all, be all, but I do see myself going with CVO's in the future. Depends on what I see when I see it and decide to take another plunge. I refuse to put myself in a position where I am straining us financially. I also know that I only have about 15 years left of this work thing before I know the purse strings will tighten more. Enjoy the time that I have and make the memories with my son and wife. That's what's most important to me.

Now I just wish my F'ing exhaust and bolts would show up so I can make this thing sound proper. I know...first world problems.

Just bought my first Harley. (Ok, my wife bought it for me because she wants my victory) ton of work already done to it and I already have a cart full. Guy at the deal said when I bought it "HD stand for Hunnit Dollars, welcome to being broke". Haha

Mine is a 2020 and the first and only brand new vehicle I've ever bought.

I told myself that if I was going to have a car and a motorcycle, one could be really nice, and the other had to be somewhat practical. So that year I got the CVO, and a used 2017 Ford Escape with a salvage title for hail damage. It runs fine and was cheap enough to pay cash for. In 5.5 years I've only put 13,000 miles on it 😆

A similar justification for me as well. I drive a company car that I can use for personal use, so the only car that we own is the truck that we bought Stephanie. She got the fancy truck, so I get the fancy bike. I'm sure if they made a CVO LowRider ST, she would be harassing me over getting that though. lol

Man, that 2018 gunship gray is the bike that stopped me in my tracks when I was walking out of the dealership. I was new to harley brand. I went to the dealer to look at some bikes. I didn't know much about differences between SG and RG, etc. etc... Hell, I liked Fat Boy because it had a huge back tire!

As I was walking out, I walked past the 2018 RG gunship gray CVO...I remember seeing that orange/black badge on the tank and the weird color. Then I looked at the price and I remember seeing $37,999. I was stunned anyone would pay that much for a bike...

7 years later and $53,500 poorer... here I am....:D

The new CVO ST is definitely tempting me to take the plunge. I’m one who never thought they are worth it but it is a nice package overall I’m hoping for a blue color though in 26 so far we have white and red so maybe just maybe a blue for 26?? Then I’ll be screwed.

2025 CVO, definitely the baddest bike I've ever had. I always new I would eventually get a CVO. This paint, Raven Fade, was calling my name.

One thing a CVO has that the poverty versions don't is resale value. You can spend $50k on a CVO, when you sell or trade it's valued as a used CVO. Or you can spend $50k buying and upgrading a road glide, but when you sell or trade it's still valued as a used road glide. Of course, you can swap stock parts back on but you'll never recoup the cost of the upgrades. It really depends on your goals for the bike. I'd never disparage anyone for dropping coin on a CVO or anything else.

Besides, I can save money by living vicariously through you guys' posts. ;)

Bottom line is, these are fun toys, life is short, buy the bike you like!
