Other than sharp looking paint, are the bells & whistles worth the jump? Is there a secret squirrel handshake between cvo owners?
It comes down to personal preference really. Some swear by them and others, well, not so much. I'm in the not so much group. When I was buying my 24 I actually fell in love with the orange and black CVO. Orange is my favorite color but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $50 for basically a toy. Besides, other than the paint, nothing else about it really jumped out at me. It wasn't because I couldn't afford it, it's because I was too cheap to spend that kind of money on it only to dump more money into it making it mine. All in all I'm happy with my poverty glide

As much as I loved my CVO demo ride last week and understand why others went that route there was a new truck in my sights first. After weeks of research I pulled the trigger today. More to come

Looking forward to seeing that truck and hearing more about it! Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota?

As other's mentioned...I spent a small fortune on building my Limited into a "performance tourer". I loved that bike but had way more into it financially than what I have on this new one. Now of course I'm not done making it mine but it came pretty close to what I wanted straight out of the gate. Most of all, there are little features about it that you can't technically get with the traditional bike.

I'm not saying this is the end all, be all, but I do see myself going with CVO's in the future. Depends on what I see when I see it and decide to take another plunge. I refuse to put myself in a position where I am straining us financially. I also know that I only have about 15 years left of this work thing before I know the purse strings will tighten more. Enjoy the time that I have and make the memories with my son and wife. That's what's most important to me.

Now I just wish my F'ing exhaust and bolts would show up so I can make this thing sound proper. I know...first world problems.

Just bought my first Harley. (Ok, my wife bought it for me because she wants my victory) ton of work already done to it and I already have a cart full. Guy at the deal said when I bought it "HD stand for Hunnit Dollars, welcome to being broke". Haha

Mine is a 2020 and the first and only brand new vehicle I've ever bought.

I told myself that if I was going to have a car and a motorcycle, one could be really nice, and the other had to be somewhat practical. So that year I got the CVO, and a used 2017 Ford Escape with a salvage title for hail damage. It runs fine and was cheap enough to pay cash for. In 5.5 years I've only put 13,000 miles on it 😆

A similar justification for me as well. I drive a company car that I can use for personal use, so the only car that we own is the truck that we bought Stephanie. She got the fancy truck, so I get the fancy bike. I'm sure if they made a CVO LowRider ST, she would be harassing me over getting that though. lol

Honestly, no. There’s nothing on a CVO you can’t go and make happen yourself. However… you’ll spend way more. Getting my hands on a CVO last year was me telling myself I’d finally found my “forever bike”. It was gently used, so I rationalized that I could buy this one or get a base model 24 for the same price. I don’t see 100 of the same bike on the road, and there’s a little bit of a sense of exclusivity, although there’s still 954 more like mine out there in the world.
I ran the numbers while shopping for my 24 CVO. It’s way more expensive to add the upgrades to a stock RG. Not to mention less time doing the upgrades means more time with the sun on your back while riding….

There’s always gonna be some customizations - even to a CVO- but I found as a self wrencher- my time will be better spent on the bike rather than along side the bike in the garage.

Speaking about sun on your back, how is the new UI when the sun is directly on it? Hopefully not as bad as the glare on my '18 infotainment screen.

No issues at all with this new setup

The new CVO ST is definitely tempting me to take the plunge. I’m one who never thought they are worth it but it is a nice package overall I’m hoping for a blue color though in 26 so far we have white and red so maybe just maybe a blue for 26?? Then I’ll be screwed.

I hate all of you... That is all...

Actually grats man! I have never "wanted" a Harley before... but I WANT a CVO ST. I got a really good deal on my 24... so, I'll stick with it until my wife gets re-employed. It though out there.

2025 CVO, definitely the baddest bike I've ever had. I always new I would eventually get a CVO. This paint, Raven Fade, was calling my name.

One thing a CVO has that the poverty versions don't is resale value. You can spend $50k on a CVO, when you sell or trade it's valued as a used CVO. Or you can spend $50k buying and upgrading a road glide, but when you sell or trade it's still valued as a used road glide. Of course, you can swap stock parts back on but you'll never recoup the cost of the upgrades. It really depends on your goals for the bike. I'd never disparage anyone for dropping coin on a CVO or anything else.

Besides, I can save money by living vicariously through you guys' posts. ;)

Bottom line is, these are fun toys, life is short, buy the bike you like!

Not a secret handshake, just a common pat on the ass!
