Was installing new grips on my '15 RG today. While working with the clutch side housing I found that the trip meter/odometer switch can be pulled up. I am assuming to sort of lock it from getting accidentally bumped. Which I have done many times myself.

That's not to to lock it. You pull it up, then slide towards the grip to remove it. Otherwise you can't take apart the switch housing.
