Wassup fellas. I'm thinking of jumping on the T bar bandwagon and wanted to know if any of guys are currently running either the Thrashin or Krause T Bar setup with the riders and bars? If so, would you mind sharing your experiences and pics? I'm trying to see more bikes with the setup to help me choose.

Right now I'm thinking of doing the Thrashin 9.5 pullback risers in chrome with chrome relocation gauge, black top tree, and either high bend or mid bend bar. Stuck between black or chrome for the bars since my '21 glide is midnight crimson with the chrome pipes but I do have a lot of black accents on the pipes, inner fairing etc. Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated. I included a pic of my bike just in case you guys need a visual to give me your suggestions. I'm 6'4 and 240 lbs. So, what do you think? Chrome or black bars? High bend or mid bend bars? Raw or black top tree? I also just changed to the empire collection for the heated grips, floorboards, mirrors, shifter, and brake pad

I’ve been looking at the thrashin stuff, I think black would look good. Check out the ness t bar set up looks good and is quite a bit cheaper. I like the ability to move the risers back on the trees with the thrasin tree. Good luck on whatever you decide. Thrashin supply has some great install videos on you tube.
I've got a set of NIB Thrashin riser adapters in the classifieds if you're interested. I will be listing s set of NIB black mid bend bars as well. I haven't had time to get pics of them to list them. Just FYI.

I have a mixture of both Kraus and Thrashin part on my setup. In the last five years the product options have vastly grown for this setup. When I did my setup back in 2018, there weren't many people doing this and figuring out a path forward took a little creative thinking. Kraus was the only developer that I could find that had a means to relocate the gauge bezel (but Big Bear was the only place I could find that offered a relocation harness. I initially went with an all Kraus setup, 12" Kick-back risers, t-rex pull back plate, gauge bezel and FM bars (2.5" of rise).

When it came to the gauge harness, I tried to find the parts to make my own extension and in the process I came across Guerrilla Cables and reached out to them about a possible option. Guerrilla Cables told me that they manufactured the harness that Big Bear offered. They also told me that there wasn't any real demand for the harness and that is why they didn't offer it themselves, but they did offer to build one to my specs and have me test it for free, and since my R&D with them they have sold it on their site.

Since my initial setup, I have made some changes. I removed the Kick-back portion of the risers, dropping their rise down to 9.75" and swapped out the bars with Thrashin Mid-bend bars, this did require the use of the bar shims Kraus offers since I went from 1.125" diameter bars to 1" diameter. I swapped my stock top tree out to the Thrashin top tree because is offered both a means to lock the tree (Kraus also offers this on their top tree) and the ability to mount the riser in the stock location or a pull back location without the need of an additional pull back plate (Kraus does not have this option on their top tree). Despite my removing of the Kick-back section of the riser, lowering the bar clamp, the gauge does sit in the same location and blocks the bottom of the radio (I can't see the clock part, not an issue though). The Mid-bend bars put my reach about a quarter to half inch lower than my initial setup.

As to the color options, I will provide my opinionated suggestion based on two things, your bike and the visual market. I suggest using the polished/chrome options because black is everywhere and I feel the polished/chrome would blend well with your ride. Polished / chrome would be outside the norm and be something different.

Edit: If you happen to go with black bars and consider the Thrashin low bend bars, I have a set all wrapped up and ready to go. I changed to midbend simply because the low bend bars were to low (total rise wise) with the kick-back portion of the risers also gone.

All Thrashing Parts:
9.5" Riser/Mid-bend bars/Top Clamp/Gauge Relocation/Clutch & Brake perch clamps.

I love it, feel connected to the bike, I can see all the gauges and the radio. The bars are narrower than apes, makes turning easier.
I may get the 1" riser extension tough, I could use an extra inch or so in height.(that's what she said) I've debated the high bend bars, but I like the sweep and position of the where the 9.5"riser and mid bars sit.
Use the rear mounting holes if you get the top clamp, the front holes made me feel like I was above or in front of the tire, it didn't feel right.

Cons: You will get more road feedback through the bars, doesn't bother me, just be aware of it.
-Once you start putting a phone mount, tuner etc. on the bars, you have to find a good position to get the gas nozzle in the tank. It's not hard, just plan ahead.

Other than the price, it was well worth it, it's easier to sling the bike around and just generally looks cool...which is half the battle.

For this reason, I made the move last summer and found a used CVO tank and converted from the center fill tank to the right side fill tank, makes getting gas so much nicer.

I've been looking for a while, I'm not savvy on ebay, so I just creep the local market.
If you do the thrashin setup I would do a mid bend bar. Currently I have their 6.5 pull back risers and high bend bar. I bought everything before they came out with their triple tree and gauge relocation so at some point I plan to swap out for the 9.5 riser/mid bend bar and top triple clamp. Chrome or black is a hard one.....I'm more of a chrome guy myself.

Are you looking for something that can just be swapped out or something that needs some body work and paint? I have seen some primed tanks on ebay for around $300-$400 as well as dinged up OEM ones for about the same.

Here are some:

Vivid Black (they say)

@Rachi79 Patrick, I am a Big Fan of Thrashin' Supply and run a lot of Their Products on My 2012 Custom, including Their 6 1/2" Pull Back Risers and Hi Bend Bars, all in Black. I would have gone with the 9 1/2" Pull Back Risers, but I did not want to lose sight of My Dakota Digital Gauges. If You check Thrashin's Website, They show the difference between all their Handlebars. There is a difference in "The Sweep" between the Mid Bend and Hi Bend Bars.
If You decide to go with a T-Bar Setup, do some research to ensure you get the best price available. Many companies sell Thrashin' Parts and have sales so You can save some "Do-Re-Me."
Best of luck with Your decision, and ask any questions you may have.

This what I plan on using, Thrashin triple tree plate with Ness riser setup. Then some mid bend bars.

@georgec, I do believe the controller harnesses pass thru (are internal) that riser setup, is that correct? If so, do the harness come out the bottom of the riser just before the tree or do they pass thru the bolts and out the bottom of the tree as well?

I have not installed this setup yet. However, there’s no way the wiring is able to go through the riser; no provision for that. I plan on possibly 3D printing something to help hide the wiring.
Thanks for all the feedback as always guys. @Mike U, I think I've decided to go with the Thrashin setup. Still contemplating between mid and high bend due to my height. Mid bend is the most common setup and I love the way it looks on all the bikes I've seen. I'm also gonna do the chrome gauge relocation with the 9.5 inch chrome risers. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna go with the black or raw top tree though. I was raw all the way at first but since my inner fairing area is all black, I'm thinking of black ad well. I'm running the empire heated grips now in chrome, which also have a little black in them, so I think bars in chrome or black will look good but still can't make up my mind haha

@S.McArthur, thanks for the pics and info! Your bike and bars are beautiful. You guys with the blacked out pipes have sunc an easy choice when it comes to decisions like this haha. I'm going with everything you have but have to think about the bars. Then I thought going all black with the top tree, bars, and risers as a cool contrast to the areas of back on the bike. Ugh! Decisions decisions lol

Absolutely Patrick!
Check out the Thrashin' website to see the wrist angle of Their handlebars.
They also have a video on how to find the right angle for the way You grip the bars.
The wrist angle can make or break a handlebar decision.
Best of Luck, and Keep Us Posted.
Call me if You need any assistance, Bro!

Yeah I did look at those videos and spoke to thrashin on the phone. The guy recommended high been because of my height but I'll have to see. Thx Mike!
