I have been looking around trying to find some answers on this so hopefully someone here can shed some light for me. The 2006 RG I just got has a Thundermax tuner on it but it does not have Autotune. The bike has an intake and exhaust (not sure what brands) and all the work was done prior to me buying it. Is the Thundermax without an autotune on this bike an issue or does it just limit the flexability of tuning? The bike runs great but I am just thinking for down the road if I change anything how I would change the tune. Thanks for any help.

There are some Thundermax geniuses on here but, I believe if you made changes like big bore, cams or heads you could take it to a tuner that would dyno it and make a custom map for you. The one in it now is probably a canned map. If i'm wrong someone else correct me. Welcome to the forum.

I thought all of the Thundermax tuners were auto tune. Perhaps the earlier models were not. If that is the case then what McLuvin would be correct.

The first Thundermax versions were not auto tune, however when they came out with the A/T module you could purchase it seperately. I would call Zipper's and see if they can be of any help. The T-Max basic can be dyno tuned just like any other system but finding a shop that works with them will be your challenge. The bright side is Zipper's location is not that far from you, just south of Baltimore, Md on route 100.
