I have a '13 FLTRX. I just removed a Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 intake and replaced it with A Ness Big Sucker with the open element. Now at idle after the bike warms up there seems to be a ticking noise coming from the motor. Is this normal and only noticeable because of the having the Big Sucker open element intake or do I possibly have an intake leak somewhere? Any thoughts would be welcome.

I'd say that is normal based on similar posts and responses. I installed an Arlen Ness BS stage 1 AC and replaced the football cover with an Arlen Ness cover. Lack of steel covering the AC and free flow AC allow engine noise never heard before to be heard.

You're hearing valve train noise, it's completely normal to hear that when you open up the air intake. Putting on a less restrictive intake will allow more sound coming off from the engine that you'll hear. No worries, you're fine! Don't freak out, but if your bike starts running smooth and quiet then I'd start to worry! :D

You may hear more valve train noise but the noise you are hearing is the throttle body, the noise from the throttle body is normal and it always been there you just hear it better with the new air filter setup.

I've been dealing with the same noise for 44K miles, ever since I went to the SE Heavy Breather. No Damage, No Worries.

Like everyone else has said, it's normal to hear more Valve Chatter/Throttle Body noise since the intake has been opened up and left much less restrictive.
