Well to start off I desperately want to do something to my bike. But, everytime I turn around my bike money is getting sucked from my pocket like dust through a hoover. First wanted stage 2, that money is gone. Now I want stage one, I don't have money for a pipe, so, I want to de-cat my stock headpipe I already have V&H slip on. Want to get an a Ness Big Sucker
( which is ironic considering the above sentence ) So now, if I could squeeze enough blood from a turnip to get a tuner, which one? I do eventually want to upgrade motor parts but at the same time there isn't a good qualified tuner around here so I need one that I can somewhat do myself.

And also as I talk about these things the stealer keeps telling me that all I need to do is a "download" to my exsisting stock setup. Anyone ever do this with decent results? Thanks for any help.

I like my Power vision plus as I go further out with engine mods the auto tune pro will come more into play . That being said PV bought now and later if needed auto tune pro . And Jamie at Fuel Moto put customer service at a new level for me .

I can't say one over the other tuners as pv is the only bike tuner I have done . It lets me play with all I want and more and if I screw up just load last known good tune or What Jamie sent me and off I go to raise a little more hell.

It comes close to my efi live for my LBZ and the older Holley power commander I use to run

Power Vision from Fuel Moto would be my suggestion. Very easy to use, double the factory warranty and lifetime map support from FM and damn good service to boot.

If funds are an issue, the micro-tuner from FuelMoto is a great solution. The drawback for you using it is that you want to eventually do more than pipe/AC.

As suggested Power Vision from FuelMoto would be an excellent choice

Power Vision runs about 415.00 online Powercommander V is a little cheaper

Microtuner from Fuel moto if your finds are low..

and a midrange would be thundermax

base this purchase on what mods you plan to do..

Everyone has an opinion on which tuner is best, and there is nothing wrong with having an opinion; however that is not the question you asked.

The answer is yes, I had the remap performed after installing an A/C (Stage 1) and new slip on. It worked fantastic and only cost $100 - good value if you ask me.
I have since done additional work (Stage 3) and only then worried about adding a tuner.
My suggestion would be save your money and get your bike remapped for what you NOW have. At the end of the day all you want is for your bike to run properly for the set-up you have today.

half his question was answered.. :) He asked what was a good tuner. As far as the download part I missed that. With a stage 1 you really dont need it IMO. We have 3 bikes with stage 1 with no download or tuner. The download is more here so it isnt worth it to me. We also run the V&H throttle pak to get better throttle responce. Since you expressed a interest in upgrading the motor i would say either save some scratch and either get the PCV or the power Vision. Also you can use the PCV maps in the vision.
