Anyone using the Motherwell tour pack mount '09 and up?

I got one off e-bay and like it but its not mounted yet (getting pack painted). I like the design and the fact that it is already black.

I seem to have the old design where the hooks face rearward but it seems to hold well. It does have a little play but the hooks don't move....its probably in the 4 point mounts bushings. And I am becoming concerned about theft.... Not so much around town but on the road or in Daytona this march.... Thinking of selling this one and getting the Motherwell locking mount....

Anyway I have 2 questions....

What others experiences are with this mount??

And when I go to bolt on the TP where should I position it? I have a Powerproductsparts.com pack which is very cool (with the spoiler integrated in the lid) and the base of the TP fits into the Motherwell mount but can slide to the front and back of the mount around 2 - 2 1/2 inches. Slid back all the way the lower part of the TP (where the backrest extension will be is just at the edge of the mount. In other words the TP bottom is flush with the front of the mount.
If slid forward it would seem there is not enough room for the passenger (I have a stock seat right now).

I have seen very few pix of the mounts position on the TP bottom and I know it could just be as simple as "personal preference" but before I go drilling the base I am looking for info. The one picture I did find has the mount about 1/2 to 1 inch from the front of the TP base.

Both of my mounts are flush with the front of the TP. One is an HD and the other is an Ebay copy. Puts the backrest nearly even with the rear edge of the seat.

So you have the front of the mount flush with the bottom front edge of the TP. That's pretty much what I expected but the stock seat slopes away so it was hard to judge without the pack backrest (on order). I tried looking at the local dealer but all the bikes there were 14's or too early or no TP.

THANKS!
